STUBBYS... Deformed fish or best breed of clownfish

This contriversial fish has been labeled diformed. They are culled. some people wont even buy them. But some people think stubby clowns are totally awesome. They make great pets and look cool. And they are smarter than regular ocellaris clowns. What do u guys at reef central think?

What is your basis for assuming stubby's to be smarter? This seems like a baseless metric tossed out there in an attempt to defend one's stance to liking a misformed fish.

I agree. they look way cooler than a regular skinny clownfish. Stubby ocellaris is an improved breed of the regular oc clowns. Im feeding mines alot so he can get really fat and stocky. E

I think you know the sentiment of many of the people on RC about these particular, um... morphs. If you're trolling for supporters, you may not get very good results. By using words like "cooler" and "improved" you're only adding fuel to the fire. This isn't your first post about this, why do you feel the need for it to continue? IBTL.

This is the best thing ive heard right here lol. lets keep the great replys like this coming reef central. Should stubbys be culled or be protected ?

I also think they are cooler then the normal clownfish. This is thr only designer clownfish which I think is an improvement in apperance over the wild type. I had one but while re arranging my rocks I knocked it out of the water and it died. It was problaly my favorite saltwater fish I had.

Baseless is baseless. Why baseless metric. Metric system of measurment, while not commonly use in the US, is a much better system, IMHO, than the baseless English system.

No no, you're right. I take back what I said. I just think this thread can turn nasty really quickly. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some people have really strong opinions about this, and when strong opinions collide, well, it just gets messy.

while I don't personally like stubbys myself, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
this is why I never liked these type of threads because everyone basically attempts to convince someone else that what they think is "cool" or "the best" is not or vise versa...

seems to me that open discussions regarding opinions are unfortunately becoming harder and harder to keep civil.... :sad2:
