STUBBYS... Deformed fish or best breed of clownfish

I see both sides. However the people who own and enjoy the stubbys seem to get alienated around here. Being that it's a community built to helping others in the hobby out, it seems rather counter productive to me. If your not a fan, and feel ultra strongly about the subject to the point where you can't support others opinions(on either side of things) then move on. Pretty simple.

Well he/she is asking for opinions knowing it's a controversial subject. Not sure what kind of answers are expected. Then there's the option of just ignoring the whole post. ;)

On may lover their clown but should not expect other people to gush and say how beautiful they are, when they feel other wise.
This thread asked for opinions, so opinions are given. I am sorry if the opinion is not the same as the OP

I don't think there are any thread here where people showing off their clowns and other people jump in and say how ugly and deformed the clowns are.

I like to argue today so I take exception to this.
Baseless is baseless. Why baseless metric. Metric system of measurment, while not commonly use in the US, is a much better system, IMHO, than the baseless English system.

Metric is much better than the...complicated and difficult to use precisely English system.

I also think they are cooler then the normal clownfish. This is thr only designer clownfish which I think is an improvement in apperance over the wild type. I had one but while re arranging my rocks I knocked it out of the water and it died. It was problaly my favorite saltwater fish I had.

Sorry to hear about your loss mate. My stubby is my favorite fish now too.

Well said steve. idk why some people get mad at opinions i say. instead of just moving on to another thread.

I dont mind designer clowns even though i will never own any but imo stubbies are not designers, they are just a deformed clownfish. Designers are regular shaped clowns with diffrent colored markings.

I think of stubbies as a mentally disabled person but thats just my opinion

If the deformation doesn't effect the fish's health/whatever I'm fine with it, I personally hate their look, it's a freaking spine deformation for cats sake!

You asked for opinions. Many of us give opinion. Most did not think a world of stubby clowns. There are a few reefers who like them.
I am sorry that my and most people's opinion is different than your opinion.

Haha. I guess I hadn't thought the term would be understood in this manner. I am a biomedical engineer, and in my line of work a metric is a term used to describe a measure, or product performance criteria. So, in our tanks, if I asked what the metrics of water quality are, one would answer with criteria such as salinity, ammonia, temp, etc.

I do agree, metric system is better than English.

Perhaps it may have a little something to do with many of your posts so far being worded in such a manner as to give the impression that you're looking for a heated reaction. ;)

Just ordered one from my LFS. Should be in next tue. Kind of a risky purchase though cause it will be going in with a juvenile true percula in a 14g cube. He's only been in there for about four days so hopefully he hasn't/won't be too territorial to his new short roomie. They will be the only two in this tank for a while.
