Stumbling onto a Beauty

It looks like it is moving a lot. Do you have it under very blue lights or heavy actinics? The pics look pretty blue, but that could be the picture. If so, I would switch to a lower K light turn off actinics and stick it back on a hill of rock with a smooth area on top directly under the bulb (if any of that is possible). I always like to get them settled in on a good rock and have them not expending a lot of energy wandering. I wouldn't hesitate to add clowns too. I think they help magnificas settle and thrive as long as they aren't diving into an open mouth.

I haven't seen much difference feeding different things but I opt for the freshest stuff I can get which usually means fresh shrimp, scallop, or squid from the market. I want stuff that I would be comfortable eating bacteria and age wise. Going for stuff from the market is also a bunch cheaper and I end up feeding more often.

Anyway, congratulations. Great color and it looks good for survival so far. Good luck with it.

These are all early morning shots about 20 min after the actinics turn on. Can really get any good pics unless its mid day when the lights are on fully.

I'm glad to see that your mag has survived. But since it's still at the top it may be looking for more light. Love the color of the tips on the tentacles.

I would think so too

I would think so too

But,

It was directly under the t-5 fixture and it moved to a shadier place in the tank.

It eats anything i give it.

I want to sell it but its doing so good in my care its hard to get rid of.

I have a RBTA that needs a new home. I just cant get to its foot.

Hey

Hey

THe original is still alive and kicking and sold to a happy owner in philly.

This one is getting paired with my leucokranos clowns.

This is a new tank technically but the water is Natural Saltwater and the rock and sand were from a previous tank.

In local fish stores.

My rules for buying a mag is that i go back to the store for week everyother day at different times. If everytime i go back it isnt deflated i consider it a somewhat healthy specimin.

Some dont stay in the store that long and i miss out but if someone is going to pull the trigger that fast good luck.
