Hello all,
Well after a few weeks of looking at pictures of my old 180, regretting selling it :headwally:, and looking at some of the great build and picture threads on the FMAS forum, we have decided to set up another large-ish tank.
We have found and agreed to buy a used custom built tank locally. Dimensions are 60 x 30 x 24, in 3/4" glass with a rear center overflow. Gallonage for the tank comes in at 187 and the deep dimension should make for a great canvas.
The plan is to have a minimalistic or "bonsai" style bare-bottom tank. To achieve that look, we decided to try and find the largest pieces of rock we could. In search of "large pieces", we went to Dryrock USA yesterday where we purchased 180 pounds of dry rock, comprised of pieces weighing between 20 and 35 pounds.
Tank will not be available for another week or so. Therefore not many pictures to post for now. Nevertheless, the whole family is very excited about the build and we look forward to your tagging along for the ride.
