So, I ran out and purchased a non-drilled 78-gallon tank on Saturday morning. It's a used tank, but in descent shape. Stopped at HD on the way home and picked up 2x4s to assemble a stand. Got home, made all of the cuts and assembled this:
I filled the tank with fresh NSW from the local LFS and added a few pieces of PVC.
I added a heater with controller, a korilla, and a bio-wheel hang-on filter from the 20-gallon tank with the carbon and media removed.
Once the QT was set up, I started to acclimate the fish from the 20, while I emptied all of the LR from the 187.
Once all off the rock was out of the 187, I caught the fish and began to acclimate them as well. Once I added the fish to the QT, I began to slowly remove saltwater and replace with R/O to lower the salinity.
I replaced all of the rock in the 187 and then glued in all 60+ frags!
In total, project started at 9:00am and ended just after 1:00am. All fish are eating and seem to be doing well in QT. I am continuing to drop salinity daily until optimal level is achieved. Fish will remain in hypo-salinity for the direction of the 9-week period.
DT will remain fish-less for the 9-weeks.
