suggestions needed for loosening this true union

thanks for all of the suggestions.

Somebody elsewhere mentioned that an installer accidentally dripped solvent on the threads of their pool plumbing!

I think I'm going to get the installer back here to play with it :)

I just added one to my ghetto pool its awesome no more chlorine although my wife hates the salt taste. Can you taste it in yours as well?

I hate to see people waste money on labor with such an easy task as unscrewing a union.

Gary - Unless you have some type of warranty, or are wealthy, I suggest you try and get it loose yourself.

I tried getting it loose myself already- that's why I posted this thread ;)
No money was wasted on getting the installer back to unscrew the union. (Why would I have to pay them?)
It was no easy task! They needed a big wrench.
It's now been adjusted so it can be hand undone. Thanks for all the helpful (and not so helpful) suggestions.

If you ever need them Gary just give me a ring I definitely have the same wrenches they do even some designed specifically for large unions

Glad to hear you got it taken care of Gary.

i save the adventure up for roadtrips with Mel.....:hmm5:

Didn't want to come in and shove the train off the tracks on the thread but since my name was mentioned... Kat, I know without a shadow of a doubt that you have had MUCH more adventure than on the 2 roadtrips we have been on. ;)
