i got this fish yesturday, and was trying to determine its gender. can anyone help me with this. I was also told that they need to be fed often and preferably live food at first. How many times a day should they be fed? any other husbandry facts about this fish would be appriciated! thank you very much

Anthias need to be feed at least twice a day, I have Bartletts and Dispars and they do best getting feed twice. I think from the color yours might be a female if it is predominately yellow colored, the males are a deeper almost watermelon red color<-the best I can describe it as. They are a deep water species and don't like high light if you have a lot of light you should have lots of caves and overhangs.

Anthias species all share the trait of being hermaphroditic.
