Sunset

No we have lots of radio towers to screw up our beautiful horizons =)

EDIT: I am 90% sure the big bush between the palm trees is a mangrove tree. I only point that out because...well this is Reef Central and a few members try to plant these things in their systems.

Nice mangrove, the root system is what makes them so spectacular =). I wade past forests of wild ones hunting for red fish and the roots are home to crabs (staple diet of the red fish) and snakes and gators and birds and sharks and snook and...I could go on forever. My point is the root system is why these trees are so valuable in ecosystems. I think a lot of people don't realize that when they use them in their tanks hoping for nutrient export.

I know this isn't a sunset picture, but the sun HAD just set ;) I just wanted to show off what a red fish looks like:

To bring things back in perspective, a spoonbill sunset picture:

this is a little off topic, nighttime pictures. I was in iraq for 12 months and we had a really bad storm during the rainy season, which lasts one month lol and it rains atleast 48 inches just in that one month, then no more rain the entire year. Anyways, my best friend and I took a combine 600 pictures that night to get these 3. i will post them one after another.

It's called neat image... neatimage dot com

It's free and you have pretty good control over how little or how much noise is removed and you can sharpen the image at the same time. Plus it is free! That's always a plus for cheap-skates like me! I use Gimp, FastStone, and Neat Image... all free!

Noise Ninja works wonders if anyone is looking for another (albet expensive) noise tool. I haven't used or even heard of "neatimage" before so I will be checking that out. I have to say that your results are pleasing. Learn something every day. =)

Just tried it out and I can tell the difference.

I've been through a lot of noise reduction tools and I find noiseware professional to be on top of the list. Same makers of portraiture also, so you might be quite familiar with there creative tools. Noise ninja is great also, but not as flexible for the more demanding tasks.

While heading home tonight, I had my camera handy. I'm a city dweller, so these images are more urban. I saw a stunning spot as I drove over a span bridging the railroad tracks, but there was no way to pull over safely. Images were merely resized, sharpened, and saved for web. Nikon D70S with the stock lens.

I'm seriously thinking about going back to that bridge tomorrow evening if the sky is similar, because the railroad rails were reflecting the orange glow. It was so neat, but it is a spot you have to walk to a very narrow shoulder. It isn't even a sidewalk.

I still think the scenery people have been posting is amazing, and if I can get a shot without stupid powerlines running through it, I'll take it. ;)
