That's a sweet on Jesse. Love the moon's appearance.

Here are some clouds I captured last April. I had to brighten the soccer field in Photoshop though.

Much purdy mana, I don't think I've seen blues like that since I was in Austrailia.

That picture is not real.

I'm learning to process the HDRI, that is my home work. :p

Nice photos people. Marc- those colors are grand. Heres one I took a little while back. One of my favorites.

I took my dog to the beach this evening and thought Id bring my camera along. How do I get the actual shape of the sun in sunset photos? all my pictures turned out like this? any comments would be great. thanks

fast shutter speeds. The land will probably be pretty dark, unless you take another picture with a slower shutter speed an blend them together. You could also use a variety of filters.

thanks bro Ill try faster shutter speed next time. Im sure a tripod would help too but won't have the money for that for a few weeks

Not sure..that distortion may be from the thin cloud cover there. Almost looks like it was reflecting off the clouds above causing a double image of the sun (behind the clouds).

Thanks guys. I thought that might have been the case at first, but I am a rookie at slr shooting so I thought Id ask

Very nice . May I ask what Lens you used for this. I want to get into landscape shooting and need a better lens.

That's a 17-40 f/4L on a full frame camera. You'd need about 11mm on a crop camera to get the same width.

Keep in mind that there is also over $400 filters involved in that shot. ;)

Threaded onto the lens is a Singh-Ray Gold-N-Blue polarizer. The top 1/3 of the image was really hot so I used a combination of a 3 stop hard-edge split graduated filter as well as a 3 stop soft-edge filter, stacked on top of one another. I held the filters by hand in front of the lens.

cool texture on those clouds Doug.. my pops is a volunteer at Lobos- wish i had the luxury of lurking around the tidepools regularly... ohh wait i do! :D
