SYED's 200G Rimless Reef

so are you planning to go completely rimless or eurobrace?

i'm at 60x30x23" 3/4" starphire rimless. 3/4"=19mm glass.

at 60cm tall, U.S tank builders will only build with 19mm glass for rimless.

Actually its depending on glass availability. I tried all over the places locally, but unfortunately 19mm even 15mm is not available. Let see if I will able to get from Bahrain...

If I get 19mm glass so tank will be 120cm x 100cm x 60cm (47.3"x39.4"x23.7") Rimless.
If not than, 120cm x 100cm x 70cm (47.3"x39.4"x27.5") with Euro Brace..

E-shine LEDs

E-shine LEDs

Is it to lit the whole tank or???

Tahir,

I am bit confused...... i am Metal Halide guy.... It is very difficult for me to jump from MH to LEDs or T5.... but let see.

I have posted one another thread on Reef Two Reef and RC. see what the guys commenting about LEDs.

Quote 1:
Personally I have decided on LED for my tank, it is 36x24x22. As for PAR, you will have more then enough PAR to work with in certain areas of the tank, leaving you options for lower light areas in the tank.

I am planning on selective lighting. I will have areas in the tank for Light soaking creatures, and areas for Chalice corals as well. I am thinking either 2 AI Sol units or a Single Ecotech Radion to start with.

Quote 2:
I'd go and did go with AI Sol's super Blue. 2 of them. Tank dim are 40/26/26. I have more than enough light for a mostly sps tank. I have acros on the bottom that are growing and looking great.

Yesterday I found E-shine Cree Lighting system. I consider these LEDs are better in the market.

What you say????

So here we go.......Contacted with E-shine. they are really fast and active..

Guys what I got from E-shine LEDs. http://www.eshinesystems.com/index.html

This is their recommendation. They said One Light is enough for me and price is 385US$. shipping excluded. 7.5Kg (3.4 pounds) per fixture weight :crazy1:...

any thought?

maxpect razor looks promising. you get awesome support out of coralvue being the distributor POC. the pricing premium is a bit more verses Eshine, less than AI.

I checked.... looking nice, all cree not bad..... but price:fun5:.... It's not release yet?... where I can buy it, if I am interested in...??

Thanks for sharing and suggestion.

Based on my DIY experience with LEDs, I can tell you that 48 3W Crees on 200 gallon tank is going to be pretty dim. Light spread from this fixture is also not going to be that great. I would think that for a square tank like you have 1m x 1.2m you will probably need at least 2 or maybe 3 of these fixtures if you want to cover it evenly. Think of it this way in terms of brightness you need about 1W of LED per 2W or 3W of MH. Roughly. PAR may be higher in LEDs though.
