Table Saw Blade

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I have been around acrylic quite a bit beings I work in a glass shop. We have sold it for yrs. We cut it on the table saw and panel saw but the cuts are not really that great...mainly for construction applications.
I am getting interested in building with acrylic and wanting to get some better cutting blades. I also have a small wood shop in my basement and have a jointer and router table so I'm not new to working with my power tools.

Looking for a good acrylic blade for my table saw.
I'm cutting some 1/4 " and some 1/2" acrylic.

What would you suggest for a carbine tip table saw blade for acrylic ?

Thanks,
Mike

I usually cut it with my table saw then I come back & put it through the joiner on my router table. The joiner leaves a smooth edge.

They do make blades for acrylic that may be a better option for u. It also depends what u are building. It won’t work for building a tank but a finish blade on the table saw & some sanding is fine for building things like overflow boxes or baffles for sumps.

There are triangular toothed blades available at regular hardware stores. They're designed to cut thin plastic siding. Excellent for acrylic as long as you go slow, the tooth profile makes it pretty much impossible to melt the edges like normal blades do. Finer teeth are generally better.

There's no real reason to use carbide tipped blades on acrylic, you're more likely to damage the carbide tips, which will cause bad cuts, and that will always happen before you make a full steel blade dull (on acrylic).
