My main display is an acrylic tank 96"x30"x24" high with an external overflow box from aquarium depot. It is an sps reef tank.
Lighting: 8 Aquaillumination Hydra 52s and 3 x 400watt radiums with lumenmax elite reflectors and lumatek blue ballast
Circulation: 4 tunze 6255s, 2 vortech mp60s, hammerhead closed loop, snapper closed loop that feeds the chiller, reeflo dart return pump
Controller: Apex with wxm controlling the vortechs, radion and awm controlling the 12 hydra 52s
Livestock: Many acropora and montipora species, tangs, large angels, rabbitfishes and large wrasses.

My system is built like a U shape workstation with another 5 ft lps/clam display and a frag tank

My main sump is a 48"x24"x24" 120gallon tank with a reef octopus xp5000 cone skimmer. It holds several boulders of live rock, 2 x 800watt jalli heaters and my avast marine ozone reactor.

I have a second sump (20gallon long) that holds a reef octopus xp3000 cone skimmer.

I run 2 old knop s IV calcium reactors where I removed the pump on one of the reactor and turned it into a dual stage calcium reactor using john guest fittings. I use a generic regulator with solenoid and a 20lb co2 tank. ph inside the reactor and tank ph are monitored but the solenoid is not controlled. my regulator keeps a steady stream of bubbles. I use an avast marine kalk stirrer dosed hourly using a brs pump controlled by the apex.

My 5ft lps/clam tank is still in the works. I have not seriously purchased livestock for it but it has lps and a few clams. It is lit by 4 hydra 52s and 2 x 400watt radiums which are old bulbs from the 300gallon display. Circulation are 2 mp60s and 3 tunze 6025s. Below are my chiller and 30 gallon topoff container

My frag tank is a 72"x24"10" acrylic truvu. It is currently lit by 3 Oceanrevive t247 LEDs using an aqua illumination hanging kit. I have a 4th ocean revive fixture that I had to send back for repair but this frag tank will eventually be lit by 4 ocean revive LEDs. I have 5 tunze 6025s for circulation in this tank.

My refugium is the tank behind the calcium reactors. It is lit with a 4 bulb 54watt t5 fixture. It has 2 types of caulerpas and chaeto. You can't even see the tank clearly because I have algae growing all over the place.

Lastly, I turned my 34 cube into an anemone tank lit by an ecotech xr15 pro and flow by an mp60 turned WAY down. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415739165.014892.jpg

Sorry for the pictures. Had to be snapped with my iPad. With LEDs I had to snap the shots while the LEDs run 14k to get a less windex view. I had programmed the LEDs to run 14k from 10am to 12noon, vho super actinic look from noon till 5pm and t5 20k look from 5pm to 10pm. Halides turn on from 10pm to midnight. I have a 14 hr photoperiod but there is a break in intensity from noon to 5pm before it ramps back up. The anemone tank has a mated pair of goldbar maroon clowns. You can only see the head of the female in the last picture.

Looks better in person Glenn. I will say I was very impressed when I saw it.

P.s. thanks Glen for letting ask questions last week. :D

I love that Glen just has rocks on the bottom of the aquarium with whatever SPS growing off it. No wall, structure or sand. Just LR, SPS and Fish. Awesome.

Hey glen, your tank is amazing!! I just love that you have tons of fish in there! I love my reef, but I've always been more of a fish man, so any tank that has tons of fish, definitely got my vote! Something about a tank that has lots of fish that makes it look so natural. Beautiful sps tanks with no fish/ small amount of fish, looks nice to me but gets boring real fast. Your tank is definitely an inspiration!
Got a question for you: being that u have tons of hydra 52s, have u ever had a chance to compare them to radions or Mitras? I've been curious about them cuss they seem to be a good competitor with radions and mitras. Aside from the spec sheet and numbers, I was curious about real life results and opinion of a user.
Thank you for sharing your amazing tanks with us.

I am an Asian man so stereotypically I would cram as much fish as I can in a given space if possible. To be honest I think the fish like it more rather than having too much area for themselves. You won't observe certain social behaviors until they reach a certain population threshold. Having more fish reduces aggression even from fish in the same genotype. They could not focus on one specific fish to bully. They also do not hide as much. They feel more secure when there are a lot of fish around. Safety in numbers I guess. Most new fish I add immediately swim freely. No hiding period. I don't stack rocks and I leave a gap between rocks so they all have a place to sleep at night or dart when spooked. With all the area on top, the fish can swim freely and I have no issue with getting flow throughout the length of the tank.

Yes, I have compared the radions, Mithras and hydra52s. I would pick the ai hydra 52 hands down. I am ok with my finances and could have jumped in the led bandwagon when the ai sols came out. I just didn't think they were good enough for acros. I waited sooo long before I jumped in because I wanted an led fixture that I can control with my apex. When I found out the apex will come out with the awm and the hydra 52s, I knew it was time. Everyone was raving about the mitras because they were full spectrum but they were not controllable by the apex. Second, it is a European equipment which means it cost too much. $1300 was ridiculous too me. Even the first radion that sold for $950 seems overpriced. When ai came with the hydra 52 with 10 more LEDs than the radion with a price of $600 and using the same LEDs as the radion it was my time to jump in. The hydra has strong uv and the actinic is better compared to the radion pro. Brighter too just because it has 10 more LEDs than the radion. Also the hydra 52 runs at 135watts and the radion at 175 with fewer LEDs. I have the new radion xr15 pro in that anemone cube and the hydra is more pleasing to my eyes. I would prefer to put a hydra there but the apex awm can only control 12 ai fixtures. Since I already have the apex wxm controlling my vortech, I just upgraded the firmware and purchased a radion because I can control 11 total vortech a and radion with the wxm module. I am actually thinking about removing the remaining 3 x 400watt radius and replacing them with the radion pros simply because I can still control 5 additional radions.
