Tangs been going right up to it not scared at all and even bumping it on occasion, anyone ever seen this?

I have two juvinelle hippo tangs. They used tow hang out with the clowns and play.

When a ritteri came into the tank they were in timeout in the overflow for 24hours (self inflected time out). When they came back they went to hang out with the clowns that were already in the anemone.

The Clowns darted toward them and pushed them away nicely. Not the normal dash and smash. Yesterday they were playing like always. Again. though, when the clowns went back into the anemone they were followed. The clowns pushed away their friends, like they knew what would happen.

My two clowns ignore the carpet won't even go near it, it's just my tang debating giving tang to a friend before my carpet decides it wants an extra meal

That is an S. hadddoni, a known fish eater. It is just a matter of time before that tang becomes a meal if this behavior continues.

In my tank, neither of my three tangs will go that close to my Gig... When food is on that side of the tank they will grab it, but head for the hills once that is over... Smart fish...

how can that eat a tang?

Their sting is very intense, and they are stickier than Velcro. I have had my hand swell up after trying to say a newly introduce dwarf angel that got a bit too close.

Anyone that has kept an S. haddoni for a length of time (( 2 years or more )) has most likely ( 95%, I would guess ) have lost at least one fish to it.

IMO, the reason this tang was able to touch this one and survive is because it is newly introduced (( the anemone that is )), and not fully settled in -- if this would happen a month from now, I would put money on the tang being lunch.
