TDB's 320 SPS Rebuild

I always enjoy following your threads, I also like your tang collection.

Thanks you. Sharing and hearing feedback like this makes this hobby much more pleasurable.

Wow the tank is insane. I don't see a lot of fishes in there. Or they all hiding?

I just cleaned out my 4 tunze and 4 vortech pumps so they are a little freaked out will the enhancement in flow. I am shopping around for a Gem tang and a few more exotics so keeping the population thin for that special fish.

Your reef is just amazing! Looks like a field of colorful acros. Beautiful!

Much appreciated, Yes this time I am 99% Acros and it seems to me they are much healthier vs the older mixed reef I use to have. I am taking a hit on color right now as the AquaConnect 14 K bulbs are not putting out the PAR my radiums did. But I paid a lot for them so have to use them up.

seem like my pieces are doing good.

Actually none of the pcs that I received from you are in here. They are in another system and are about 3 to 6". I need to thin out before I can move them up.

Dude looking good. I like the growth on that slimer.

Thank you, I love looking back through the pictures to quantify the growth. Your right that is one fast growing slimmer. Also the Yellow/Green Tort seems to be the fastest in the tank.

Absolutely stunning mate! Make me even excited to be getting a Radium over my tank!!

It is by far the best choice. I tried every thing in between and to me Radiums are the best MH for SPS.

Holy crud you have created the perfect coral growing machine!!!!!

LOL, That is great perspective. Now I just need an auto fagging and testing system and that would be perfect. At the moment this is my Girlfriend lol.

Andrew has be very excited for it and seeing that you recommend it definitely fills me with whatever space I had left in my confidence in Andrew as my reef mentor haha I love the 14k Hamilton bulb I'm running as is but a little more blue is definitely going to make me even happier! Just have to sort out my HPS ballast so we can run this baby to spec :)

This tank is crazy!
Your growth is nuts.
How many fish in there these days.
I love my radiums as well..
I will enjoy watching this tank continue to 'bust out'

Hello all, I hope your having a great summer. Trying to get back on the map for TOTM I got some better Picture Post processing software that captures the essence of the new reefs colors. Below is my August 2015 update. I hope your enjoy!

Wow, very colorful water garden! Thanks for sharing.
By the way, how old is this tank? Do you trim the overgrown often?

Hi Wes - Thanks!!!!! The tank has been up since 2/12. I redid it changing the rocks-cape and repopulating it 1/15.

Yeah, Many of the corals need to be trimmed. I will be moving quite a bit of frags this fall.

As a bug admirer of your tank! Thanks!

Tom, since you have the test equipment, could you let us know what par the corals are getting, and how long? Maybe a test from the front, middle, and back during dawn/dusk times and any other light combinations? You seem to have hit a real sweet spot and the par you hit at peak has got to be incredible. Some reference numbers would be very very helpful. Thanks!

Thanks I stagger the lighting, and shoot for about 250-350 Par. directly under the center of the Radiums it could get up to 600 and notice really no ill effects.

Over the summer I have only been running T5 and Led which is averaging 250 par and everything looks great. but for a general Rule target 300 for sps and stags or those that branch upward can go higher up to 800.

Hi Rick, It is doing well, It is in my frag system and things there dont grow as fast but Id say it is an inch and half! Cant wait to get a piece of that tenius when your ready!
