There were quite a few nice clams at Los Angeles wholesalers this week. :)

Check your LFS's for:

Gold Teardrops
Blue Dotted Squamosa
Green Rim Squamosa
Dark Green overall Squamosa

The variety of Squamosa was by far the best IMO this week. All in the 3" to 6" range.

quick question - if a maxima is of a mostly brownish gold w/ little blue color is it still as light demanding as the ultra blues? saw a baby max like this and i only have 130W of PC in a 20 nano - possible?

The RUMOUR is that gold max's are less light needy than the typical max--makes me nervous, but that being said, I'm the moron keeping max's and croceas under T5s and they seem fine....

Hi Moonpod
I know it's belong to another thread, but T5, might have even better results than MH.
I have a friend who started keeping SPS and Clams under 8X54W T5 and so far he have amazing growth out of his SPS and Clams, the growth was not even close when he was using 2X250WMH with Actinic FL, for years.

Now back to the thread......Anybody got/saw/know of/heard of etc......BLUE SQUAMOSA???? : )

Yeah, what about an all blue squam? I got one w/a blue rim, but an all blue, that'd be SCHWEET.....

On the T5 note--in particular from what some of my fellow hobbyist say, sps do well under them. SPS are a new feature to my tank so I'll hold my enthusiasm. Clams for sure do fine under them. I haven't had such good luck w/softies personally though. They live and all, but don't grow particularly fast.

Here is the teardrop I just picked up. I am told that the mantle is redish orange with green/turquoise teardrops.
