Temp dropped to 74.. What now?

I goofed and had the back sump circulation turned off for feeding, and a crisis arose which called me out of the house at 11 AM. I just got back at 6PM and noticed some corals were not open, taking a quick check, the temp had dropped to 74. Normally 79.5.

Of course its warming back up now, but any thoughts?

You'll probably be okay, but I'd suggest a countdown timer to turn the sump back on automatically. I have had similar issues. The device I use is from LabSafety.com, and it's not cheap, but I think it's worth it.

Thanks Jonathan.. Too new at this to know whats a big deal and what is not. I think I will look at that.

74 isn't that bad
During a large water change my tank can dip to 75.5 in the winter
Normal in the winter fro me is 76.5-78.5

Not too worrisome. It's the rapid flux that's worst. But never-never-never let it climb above 85: that's coral bleaching territory. Better a little cool than too hot.
