It seems lately when the tank loghts are on I either don't have the time or the energy. :( I'll see what I can do in the future...

Nice tank!
I may have missed this looking through 30 pages!
But how much live rock are you using. I'm setting up a 75g Fowlr which has similar dimensions except length. Im just trying to get an idea of what lb/gal ratio loks good. Thanks

Thanks chirojosh! I think I have around 150 pounds in the main tank and another 40 or 50 pounds in the sump/fuge and 40 gallon.

UPDATE on my son for those interested: We went back to Ohio State yesterday. Great news!!! The Dr. said Russell's lungs sounded MUCH better! He also couldn't believe he hasn't been back to the hospital since August! He will keep him on the antifungal antibiotics for another month then discontinue them and see what happens. He did of course remind us that he still has sever lung damage and that will not go away. We are scheduled to go back in mid November. Russell is only working about 8 hours a week, he just has no energy. He did start pulmonary rehab last week and both the Dr.s and us are hoping this will help bring his energy level back up so he can get on with life again.

Also, we finally started building his house!!! We poured the basement floor on Tuesday the 9th then started the decking on Wednesday the 10th. My older son parked one of the fire trucks in front of the house on Wednesday night with lights on top running from the generator so we could work later. All the outside walls are up and we got the trusses on Friday. Several people heard we were starting the process and just "showed up"! It was pretty moving to see people just show up and ask what they could do then jump in and go at it. Word travels fast, sometimes living in a small village isn't so bad. By Saturday the 13th the house was under roof including shingled up! We will work on siding probably this weekend. We are working on interior walls now. We got an unbelievably great estimate on the drywall work so we will hire that out! (I hate doing dry wall work!). It looks like he will most likely be able to move in by mid to late November!!! That's the same time he moved out last year! (I hope this isn't going to be a pattern!) :)

Wow sounds like things are finally looking up for you. I am glad to hear it! I recently went through a very hard time losing a friend and it is so wonderful to have the support of family and friends.

Thanks gkarshens, I don't know what I would do without my family and friends. Sorry to hear of your loss.

So I posted but it didn't show up? Sounds like you guys have great energy over there and that's half the battle. My mom just visited for a week and she has Graves Disease. I can't understand why she is traveling around the country being that ill, but she doesn't want to let it take over her life. They went to kalifornia for a week, then here for a week, and now Detroit...I suppose it's better to be ill and traveling than ill and house-bound.

jnarowe I see your post. :) and I agree that is half the battle! It's getting there. I'm thinking 2008 might be a better (calmer) year? :) At least I hope so. The black cloud can move on out over the ocean now. :D

Sorry to hear about your Mom's health. I've not been in that situation, but I would "hope" that I would do what I could while I could. Seeing family has to be good for her. House-bound just drags you down.

I agree traveling while not feeling well stinks. Good for her to not let that stop her! I hope I'm like that some day. :)

Now I was sending the cloud out over the ocean so no one else would have to deal with it!!!

Well I just read all 31 pages of this thread today and all I can say is ... Awesome tanks, and I am VERY happy to see that everything is going better for your family :)

Hi Micki,
Your tank is looking great. Loved the pictures and vid.
So glad things are looking up for you and your son. You both deserve some sunny skies after all the bad times this past year :)
Rita

Hmmm, I didn't get any notifications of your responses so I didn't see them until tonight! Marc thanks! :)

fejus, WOW, I'm impressed! :) Thanks for the kind words about both my tanks and family!

Rita, thanks! I just read your thread! I'm glad things are going better for you as well. :)

MOVING DAY!!! Well, the house is done! We poured the basement floor 5 weeks ago this past Tuesday! From a hole in the ground to moving day took 37 days!!! We still have a few small things to do here and there but for the most part it's DONE! Needless to say it's been a bit crazy around here for the past 37 days! :D Russell's new furniture was delivered yesterday. We have to go to Ohio State to see the Dr. today and Russell wants to stay in his new house tonight. So, we will be moving some more stuff in tonight so he can at least sleep there and then finish moving the rest of his things this weekend. We also get to have our grandbabies stay with us for the night tonight as well! It doesn't get any better than that!

Micki,
I just read your entire thread......whew! I can't believe what your family has gone through!!!! I sure hope things will get better for all of you.
I love your reef tank and fowlr. I sure would like a sweet setup like your "fish room". Unfortunately our place doesnt have a basement ...or 1 square inch of extra space (w/ 7 kids).
Please keep us all updated on your tanks and yor family. Blessings to you.....

Thanks jnarowe. balmiesgirl Thank you and you get the award! :D I'm hoping things are goingto get better for the next year. It has to right... :)

OHIO STATE UPDATE: The Dr. is taking my son off the antifungal antibiotic. He has been on it for 2 months now. He wants to see how he does and hopefully he can maintain. He said his lungs still have mucus in them and he expects that will not go away. If he does ok he doesn't need to come back until February. If he gets sick we are to call and they will bring him in right away. So now we just pray that the fungus doesn't come back and that his lungs can hold out for several years until he would have to have the transplant. :) He continues to go to pulmonary rehab three times a week. He seems to be getting a little stronger.
