I hope so. It's got to be very tough after so many years of dealing with problems. Our son was IVF and was a premee by more than a month. I can empathize with your struggle.

It's amazing how times have changed. Russell was born 8 weeks early weighing 3 pounds 2 oz. and spent most of his 1st year in the hospital. My granddaughter just turned 5 this week. She was born 6 weeks early weighing 3 pounds 3 oz. was in the hospital 13 days not even so much as an IV, came home weighing 4 pounds and has no problems. My grandson was 1 year in May born 5 weeks early weighing 3 pounds 15 oz was in the hospital 4 days came home at his birth weight. He did have surgery for pyloricstenosis when he was 3 weeks old but that had nothing to do with him being a premie. He has done great other wise and both kids are caught up in every way.

How old is your son? I hope your battle was a short one.

I wish these struggles would finally stop so you can enjoy life with your family again. Health can be such an ordeal, and there are many times that I thankfully thought to myself about my son's luck in not contracting any illnesses as well as myself.

Thanks Marc, me too :) I am enjoying my family and mostly my grandbabies. That's what keeps us sane I think. LOL It's not as if we are sitting around waiting for bad things to happen. Life is moving we just have a few bumps in the road here and there. To look at Russell you really wouldn't know how sick he is. He is quite the trooper!

Yes you are right I need to take some tank shots today! I'll see what I can do. :)

Our son is 10 now. He weighed about 5 lbs. when born but had low oxygen levels, sleep apnea, etc. and was in ICU for 8 days. Things have changed in that the hospital we chose had a very advanced maternity ward. It was like a hotel, and when it was time for the "event", all the equipment came out of the ceiling and walls. My wife was in a jetted tub in the hospital room when she started giving birth.

Anyway, there was one major benefit to this all. We were allowed to stay in the hospital room while our son was in ICU, and because of that, and our hands-on approach, when we got home with him, we already knew what we were doing. We had eight days of intense hospital training. :)

After that there were a few small scares, and of course we were petrified about the sleep apnea. We bought our own nebulizer and had to use that quite a bit during the first couple of years. Anyway, he is fairly healthy now just having some minor skin issues and we have him on special supplements and a diet of no corn, food colors, preservatives, etc.

I'm glad to hear things weren't terrible for you. My hotel stay was cut short with an emergency C-Section and my son being sent to Childrens Medical Center 45 minutes away.

Taking care of our babies never ends no matter how old they are. :) I wouldn't want it any other way...

Now back to the tank! I took some pictures but I'm leaving for my 5 year old granddaughter's birthday party. I'll work on posting them later today or tomorrow.

That would be about the most gut-wrenching experience one could ever have.

Well, I was in ICU for the next 5 days so it didn't really hit me hard until I was able to get out of there. I had Preeclampsia resulting in the emergency C-section. I was very close to not being here myself. When I was finally able to know what all was goingon I thought I would go nuts until I got to him. We also had a 25 month old son at home. Needless to say it rocked his world as well. We've had some tough times but we made it. I plan on making it through the next several as well. :)

Can anyone confirm what this really is?

I can never get the "true" color in my pictures. The really blue tips in this one are pretty close to what all the tips look like. It's really a very pretty piece.

This one is much prettier in person. The ends are turning a nice pink color.

Most of these were taken either in the dark or with only actinics. I need to figure out how to turn off the flash. :D
