Since it was labeled FO, I'm thinking there were no inverts. However, the bacteria might have taken a hit, and thus it would be wise to watch water parameters for now.

that's what I thought and oops your are correct fowlr tank:o

Good news Micki, I'm having hard time "talking" Jaylee is in my lap trying to help me type ;). I'll just have to be short lol.

Good to hear that Russell has improved. I hope it's not a hernia, I just went through a repair, and it wasn't pleasant.

Hope the fish do alright.

Hey there! I think it's been longer than that! It didn't do good in my system at all. It started falling apart so I fragged a few pieces and gave them away then gave the main part to my daughter in law. It grew great for her! When she took her tank down she gave it to another friend of ours. As far as I know it's still going good! I have no idea why colt coral and xenia won't grow for me. :(

I had great empathy for you when your dog died and so did Kelsey:

Hey there just a very quick update. This has been a crazy busy summer and I can't believe it's August!!! Russell is hanging in there. He has some up and down days but most are up! :) My Mom may be going to Cleveland Clinic to have a procedure called a Heart Ablasion (sp?). She is still in Afib and would like to check out all her options. I'll be going to all the Dr. appointments with her to help her weigh the risk vs benefits... I'm not totally sold on her having this done just yet.

Tank Update! My FO tank had I think 3 or 4 bouts of either too much water added or forgot to add water for a longer period of time than should have. We don't have an ato on that system like the reef has. Everything in that tank seems to be doing great in spite of those issues! The eel and large crab are both doing great in there as well. Some of the coral in my reef tank is actually getting almost too big. When I scrape the glass I'm hitting some of them which then makes some of the rocks move a bit. I am still having some issue with salt creep coming out from under the canopy. I think we need to take that off and really clean it out good. In our spare time...

I'll be heading to Destin Florida on Tuesday for my annual girls only trip! 8 days of fun in the sun! Woo Hoo!!! :D When I get back I'll have to make some time for picture updates. It's been a while. ;)

good news Micki... glad to hear your son is hanging in there, as is your Mom.
Have a blast in Redneck Riviera! :) We've been going down there for years- can't wait to go down there in October.
Have a safe trip!

Thanks TJ! Redneck Riviera, hmmm, I've never heard it called that before! :) There's no place like Destin! :D

that's what we call it down here in the south. :) You're right- nothing like those emerald green waters.

LOL I'll have to pass that on to my friends! We used to go to different places for vacations. Ocean Isle, Myrtle Beach, Virginian Beach, Gulf Shores. After going to Destin we never went anywhere else! We took our kids and Grandkids there last year. They fell in love with it as well.

The last few years we've tried Dauphin Island, AL. We drive by the signs every year now, for 13-14 years and always say "we ought to try that sometime...." well, last year we did. It was so nice. Not as pretty as Destin, but still pretty and SO secluded and laid back. It was wonderful. And cheap. And we even went during peak time the 1st time. We would leave our stuff on the beach and no one bothers anything.... we went back this year, late spring. You can ferry across to Gulf Shores. We always do and get a couple of dives in there. Diving at Dauphin Island isn't much good, unfortunately.
My husband and I actually got married on the beach in Destin. :)

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted anything! Where to start... On my way home from Destin in August (Great Trip!) my Dad called me and said he is having a pacemaker put in the next day! Everything went perfect and 5 days later he and Mom headed to Canada for a week of vacation. Russell did great through the rest of the summer until yesterday morning. He came to our house saying he is sick. Had a temp of 103 and an O2 sat of 72! Needless to say I got some things going. He's back on O2 all the time for right now but doing much better. My Mom is having heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic so I will be going to Cleveland Thursday. I had an EGD in September and found out I have some stomach problems. What a shock!!! :D My other son and daughter in law are doing good and my grandbabies (not so much babies any more ages 6 and 2) are AWESOME!

Now for some tank news... My 150 FO tank apparently got sick. I ended up losing everything except my Naso tang and Eel. I'm still not exactly sure what happened, but, I know the salinity was up and down a good bit for a while. I would have thought my Eel might have reacted to that before my panther grouper would have. I've toyed with moving the Naso and possibly the Eel to the reef tank. I'm not positive I want to do that. I would probably shut down the FO tank, or maybe toy with that being a seahorse/pipe fish tank since there is very little flow in there. Just not sure yet.

My reef was doing ok until a few days ago and I noticed a rock fall had happened. My caps have grown so much, I've been breaking pieces off for a while but they still grow close to the glass and when I clean the glass I think I probably shift he rocks a bit. I guess they finally had their fill and tumbled. I had to change one side of the tank. After I carefully did it, I realized the rock was against one side of the glass so I have to change it all again. I also lost my black blenny around the beginning of the summer. guess who I found in one of the over flows... I'm still trying to get him out! After seeing Melev's mandarins I think I want to get another pair, I miss mine. I know I have plenty of food for them! I need to get some pictures of the new aquascape when I get it finished. I was tempted to change the entire tank but didn't have the time/energy the other night. :)

I also lost several SPS over the summer due to some ricordia and other LPS taking over. :mad2: I also lost both of my torch coral for some odd reason. My Frogspawn was not effected. I think that's about it! Is it 2009 yet???
