@biocube14g:

Thanks for following ! Welcome a board =)

It´s amazing to see things change from day to day, I´m more
than stunned about the progress =)

Hopefully soon I will put in there the first fish! This weekend and over the next week I´ll get some more nice corals!

I might even try my first LPS, because I want the tank to be 60% LPS, 20% Anemones and soft corals and 20% SPS.

Keep you all updated!

Greetings
Mathias

Hi you all =)

Sunday is a special event at my favorite coral shop, they do a sunday sale.
I´m going to buy some more corals, do you guys have any recomendations for a
beginner like me?

Special kind of Zoas? A certain soft coral? Or maybe already LPS (my favourites=) )

I hope you guys have some good suggestions for me, I kind of feel like drowning in the giant choices of coral =)

Greetings
Mathias

Hi guys =)

here´s a little update:

Today I´ve been to my favorite coral shop, because there was a shopping
sunday. I got some beautiful pieces of coral, a digging seastar and some snails.

I couldn´t resist after I tested my water this morning (all parameters are just fine) to buy my first 2 LPS =)

And here they are:

But I have a question: How do I see if the Caulastrea and the Fungia are well? Do they have small tentacles or something like that?

There is also a soft coral I got as a present but have no idea what it is.
Maybe you guys have an idea?

Greetings!
Mathias

Hi Guys =)

Sorry for the lack of updates, was quite busy with uni in the last time.

But now I got something for you.....

FIRST FISH =)

I finally got my first fish, I choose after a long discussion with various people
out of the german saltwater aquaristik scene and my favorite fish shop owner.
to get 2 yellow tangs. At first I thought my tank would be to small for them, but they seem to like it. Yes they do fight a little but I guess they slowly have figured the ranking.
Now they accept each other and feed on the last bit of hair algae I got.
They do not like flake food, so tomorrow I´m going to buy some artemia and mysis.

I also got some new corals and my first rose bubble anemone.
Here are the pics hope you like it.

Greetings
Mathias

Hi guys:)

Today I fed some frozen food for the first time.
And my 2 tangs loved it:) The last
2 days they both had some white dots, but now they
got used to there new home and they disappeared.
All in all the two are very busy with feeding on algae and
surfing on the Wavebox waves:)
I love them! Next Friday I'm going to add a mated pair of bantai cardinals
to the tank.
Also I will start to grow my own artemia.

It's so much more than a hobby, it's true passion:)

Hello =)

Today a bigger update. There was a lot of change inside my tank =)
New fish and corals, a wavebox tomorrow another stream pump, etc.

I also have a question, concerning a skimmer. Thus my percula skimmer is
ehm let´s say not satisfying, I did some research on the internet to get another one.
Because of lag of space inside the technic area inside the tank, there are just a very
few skimmers which would work and non of them is really something I would say "I go to have that thing!"

So I thought about going with an external skimmer. As I said I don´t have a sump so it has to stay in the dry ;) My questions: Is that possible? Does it make sense? How do I connect it with the tank? Which one you would recommend?

In the moment it´s mostly softies with some lps, but I want to keep the chance of
going sps somewhere on the way.

The measures are 122x60x60cm- so something around 115 gallon.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated =)
Thanks to you guys!
And have a nice second weekend of advent (if you call it like that )

Greetings
Mathias

And part 2 =)

Hope you like it, I didn´t clean the back of the tank, because my sea urches
like to eat the algae.

Hi everyone =)

This friday I gonna get some additional LR, and also a pair of Valenciana Sexgutta
to keep the ground nice and clean.

Still got to get a new skimmer, it should be a hang on or external. Please let me know, if you have any suggestions.
