Hi Michael,

Just got an e-mail from David @ the reefshops.com site and he said he had sent you one of the old design bubble boxes. He said that they don't have any more available right now but will contact
me when they do.
Here is his reply:
HI
Thank you for the email.
actually, we sent to him is old design, and we don't stock it now, if I can get them again, I will let you know.
best regards
David

I wonder why they switched to the new one they have now because the design of the one you have seems so much better IMO.

A note on my NAC6; I've had mine running now for just over a couple weeks now and without mods it has been pulling junk better than expected. This morning at about 6:30 ish, I came dowstairs to take a peek at the system and the skimmer has really kicked in. I actually have lowered my fish load and was shocked to see dense foam filling the entire pot. It had been performing great before but now it's two fold. I have even cut my feedings down to once a day with spectrum pellets just for the fish and only spot feeding corals once a week. I thought if anything, it would be producing less for sure.

I was going to get a pic this morning and post it but my memory card for my camera was at work. I'll have to get a pic tonight.

As rtparty said in a previous post, give the skimmer some time and you wont be dissapointed.

Doesn't make sense! The NAC6 is new and they say this is the old one? What old one?

It sure looks like a BK box! Wonder if they accidentally shipped Michael that instead (I don't think they sell BK though). I have a BK 160 mini and I can't positively i.d. it, but it looks pretty close.

UK gets BM skimmers at last!!!

UK gets BM skimmers at last!!!

Well guys as above. I have been waiting on a BM150 for ages now. The UK is now getting drip fed an inmport of BM skimmers as they go thru customs but much to my annoyance, this shipment consists of the NAC7, the BM180-CS and the BM-NAC6SE UK version which apparently has a more poweful pump (3000 as oppposed to the 2500).

The NAC6SE retails for £169, the NAC7 for £167 and the BM180-CS £399 (OUCH!). After speaking to one of the UK retailers, I was going to opt for the 180CS as my 50"X20"X24" system with approx 55 litre sump is overstocked with 16 fishes (albeit small bar the yellow tang) but if the guys I am speaking to are going to charge £399 for it, I might have to re think.

The BM150 will not be in the UK for at least 3 to 4 weeks I have been told and that will be optimistic if the latest delivery is anything to go by so what do you guys think?

NAC6 with a 3000 Atman pump, NAC7 or wait for the BM150?

Failing that, does anyone know if you can replace an Atman (when it dies) with the Aquabees?

Also worth mentioning too, one US site I have been in contact with offer the BM150 for £143!! In the UK, this will be AT LEAST £250!! What is it with the UK? Pi$$e$ me off!. Of course, I can order from the Us but I know I will get hammered for import duty (even on the postage!) Damn it, I just want a BM skimmer now.

What do you guys think?

I have narrowed down to two skimmers (BM150PRO or BM180CS for 90gal with 30gal sump)! It appears that there are lots of reviews on the BM 150PRO, but can't find any for 180CS. If you have 180CS, please post your reviews. thanks you

Just picked up a NAC6 and I am quite impressed with it so far.
Ordered it from Nuocean Wednesday and received it Friday. Replaced a Etss 500 on a 10yr old 75g. Needed something more compact under stand.

any one own the BM200P thats what i have my eye on as soo as i can come up with the cash they all look nice and resonably price i hope i can be a member soon

just got my BM 200P yesterday...very well built easy to put together...much bigger than I thought...

Having my sump custom built...10 inches of water for the BM200 right?

Thats what i heard my sump will run at 10" having one custom made as well i would like to hear from someone running one and see pics of it in action

Just got my BM200P 3 days ago,

Build is top quality
Assembly is simple
Packaging is top notch

Ive found that it draws too much air and makes a bit of noise. Seemed as if it needed a intake valve. So ive put in a piece of air tubing in the top of the muffler and thats all. It has less turbulance and better foam head, and its a lot quieter.

For all the NAC6 owners, I have read that around 10" of water is optimum, but can I get it to operate efficiently in less? I am going with a DIY sump out of a 10 gallon glass tank and it's height is only 12". I don't want my baffles 2" from the top. Thanks.

I have mine running in 8 inches and it runs well.
I tried it in 7 and it was difficult to get the foam head high enough up the neck.

Thanks. What LFS do you frequent? I am in San Jose. I am getting my NAC6 from Blue Ocean Aquatics, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm on the wagon so I try not to frequent any LFS. For odds and ends I go local to Ultimate Aquarium in San Mateo. I've been to Blue Ocean a few times, not in a while though. They always have great, healthy looking fish. Nice display tank they have shaping up in the front.
