I can't comment on the NAC7 but I love the NAC6. The price is right. It also comes down to height limitations. The NAC7 is taller and the transition on the cone is not as angled as other cone skimmers on the market so I couldn't justify the price difference. The pump is supposedly better on the NAC7 but yet again, I can't comment on it's performance. All I know is that my NAC6 on it's worst day way out performs my Tunze 9002 skimmer on it's best day. I couldn't be happier and I think these skimmers are way under-rated for their tank size. As the Bubble-Magus name becomes more widely known, I think you will see the prices edge upwards.

Need some help
will be setting up a 50g with a 20L sump...will contain mainly sps and 3-5 fish

what skimmer would you go with?
NAC6 (rated:90g heavy bioload)
OR
BM150 (rated:125 heavy bioload)

ok after reading this entire thread i have decided to get a bubble magus. now should i go with the nac6 or nac7 for my 40gal sps with 20gal sump?

I have the exact same setup and am running the NAC6. You will be very happy with the NAC6 on that system.

You are correct. Prices are going to go up on these skimmers. Last I heard they are going to raise the NAC6 up to $175 instead of $155. Now whether all the distributors follow that is another story.

Also the NAC6 and NAC7 run the exact same pump.

Basic tank spec: 100gallon, 80% sps, VSV, heavilly stocked - Emperor angel, yellow tang, naso tang, blue tang, sixline wrasse, 2 percs, 3 chromis.

Ok so I was pondering over a few skimmers to replace my awsome Deltec TS1250 due to a tank upgrade, I wanted something bigger and better.

My choices were:
Bubble Magus
BM180CS
BM200P
BM200E2

Reef Octopus
Extreme 200

Having heard great things about the bubble magus brand so far, and seeing the performance of one of their BM250's and also trying it out on my tank for a few days I was quite happy with the brand. And i chose the BM200P because it was cheaper than the E2, and was rated better than the BM180CS and it also was recommended by Ben @ Deepblue who i ended up purchasing the skimmer from, many thanks :D

Did i infact make a good decision? You be the judge.

- Unpackaging, this thing was in a huge box, with HEAPS of foam, arrived in perfect condition.
- Assembly was so simple, done in less than 10mins.
- Build quality is top notch, fat acrylic, beautiful workmanship

This is 5.5days of skimmate, during breaking in. The skimmer had about a 2 hour vinegar bath before getting installed. 3rd picture shows bubble size and a not so nice transition point where a small amount of gunk gets stuck. After 7 days the cup was 3/4 full (no pic).

Initial start up was fine, it is a tad noisey, i tried to reduce the amount of air to the intake by putting in a smaller bit of air tubing, it worked, less turbulance, no sound, nice foam head, but the foam head sat in the neck so i took it out and ran it as per factory.

Then the skimmer was cleaned, and this is where its at 3 days of skimmate :!: :!:

orderd a nac6 from nuocean today. will post pics and thoughts when it shows up. went with nuocean because of the good price, free shipping and all the good reports about his customer service.

what are the pros and cons of this brand of skimmers? i am thiking of getting one cuz my msx 200 is ****ing me off. when i first got it, it wasent skimming too good and i gave it some time to brak in and still the same thing. now my stupid pump is broken and i will have to drop another 200 for a good pump. i am thiking of getting the NAC7 for a 72 bowfront tank with a 30 gal sump.

Has anyone had a problem ordering from nuocean? I've tried to order a skimmer two days in a row now and their site is giving me problems. I can't find a phone number for them and I've emailed them with no response. Does anyone know another site to order the NAC6 from for around the same price?

I had no problems at all with them. I put in my order and had it in less than 48 hours. You can try here, but doesn't look like they offer free shipping.

have decided to go witht he nac6 BUT...

anyone think that the nac6 is too small for a 50g/20sump sps tank w/ 3-5 fish and i should go with the bm-150?

Sorry to double post but i'm thinking about ordering one today...

Not at all. You will be just fine. You may overskim while your tank matures.

I am looking to join this club :) I have:
150 gallon
90 gallon
75 gallon sump

these are all plumbed together. So I was wondering what skimmer would be recommended? I have a medium load right now.

My NAC6A is coming today from NuOcean. It'll be going on my Oceanic R.R. 75 with 30 gallon sump. Right now there's about 60-80 lbs. of live rock in there curing/cycling with a SeaClown 100 on it. It's actually been churning pretty good and pulling out some dark scum. My sump/fuge is almost done so I'm gonna throw the Magus in there and hook it up with the S.C. still running and see which one wins. LOL. I'll be moving over the contents of my 55 mixed real soon.

I'll keep you updated with pics. Not that the results will do anything other than reinforce what we already know about it.

OK, UPS guy just came by. I've unboxed it and so far I'm impressed. Excellent quality.

But now I'm starting to assemble it. I'm trying to screw the bubble box thing to the pump with that bolt. It's step 1 in the manual. The plastic bolt goes through the box and screws into the pump. And there's a little rubber gasket at the base of the bolt. I'm having a problem getting the bolt pushed far enough through the bottom of the box so that it will catch in the pump.

The little gasket is keeping it from going in far enough. I haven't tried pushing it all that hard since I don't want to break it yet.

If anybody knows what I'm talking about, let me know.

EDIT: Nevermind. I pushed it all the way in prior to mounting it on the pump and it worked.

it all depends on your computer I believe with there web site. I can get on the site with no problems here at the house but at work, yea that is not going to happen. I did find that double clicking the page you are trying to get on sometimes works. I ordered the BM180CS and it is going to be here tomorrow. Can wait.
