Ok so I was pondering over a few skimmers to replace my awsome Deltec TS1250 due to a tank upgrade, I wanted something bigger and better.
My choices were:
Bubble Magus
BM180CS
BM200P
BM200E2
Reef Octopus
Extreme 200
Having heard great things about the bubble magus brand so far, and seeing the performance of one of their BM250's and also trying it out on my tank for a few days I was quite happy with the brand. And i chose the BM200P because it was cheaper than the E2, and was rated better than the BM180CS and it also was recommended by Ben @ Deepblue who i ended up purchasing the skimmer from, many thanks
Did i infact make a good decision? You be the judge.
- Unpackaging, this thing was in a huge box, with HEAPS of foam, arrived in perfect condition.
- Assembly was so simple, done in less than 10mins.
- Build quality is top notch, fat acrylic, beautiful workmanship
This is 5.5days of skimmate, during breaking in. The skimmer had about a 2 hour vinegar bath before getting installed. 3rd picture shows bubble size and a not so nice transition point where a small amount of gunk gets stuck. After 7 days the cup was 3/4 full (no pic).
Initial start up was fine, it is a tad noisey, i tried to reduce the amount of air to the intake by putting in a smaller bit of air tubing, it worked, less turbulance, no sound, nice foam head, but the foam head sat in the neck so i took it out and ran it as per factory.
Then the skimmer was cleaned, and this is where its at 3 days of skimmate :!: :!:
