Ordered mine a few days ago from oceanreeflections but they get them from cadlights and cadlights is out of stock.

Have to say, the customer service at oceanreeflections is outstanding. I've recieved about 6 emails about my order. I can't remember his name but he emailed me telling me that cadlights is out of stock and he would be happy to refund my money. I told him I'm in no hurry and that I would wait.

I have found that mine tends to make noise when restarting. If I plug it in and it makes noise I unplug it and plug it back in and the noise is gone.

Heating acrylic surface, cracks will not see, and these cracks will not lead to fragmentation of the acrylic.
You can try it.

Cast acrylic should not spyder crack like that. Just because it doesn't leak doesn't mean it isn't cracked.

Anything that goes into a salt water tank should never be washed with soaps or household cleaners. Any marine company that asks for that in the directions should be questioned. If you have to clean it, use a vinegar and water solution.:hammer:

I use hot water and a very little dish soap to clean the cup on my SeaClone. Basically I just use the residual suds that may be left on the sponge from something else. The stupid SC seems to lose efficiency when it gets just a little buildup. I have never had any issue like this with the plastic on the cup.

i really suggest you dont do that. you should have a dedicated brush, or cleaning implementation strictly for your skimmer.

#1 skimmer gunk is nasty. you take the same sponge and wash your dishes? hmmmmm
#2 you want to not cross contaminate anything from a household sponge and introduce into your tank. raw meat bacteria, oils, soaps etc.

good luck.

You're probably right about not using soap in the skimmer. But why do you jump to the conclusion that I use the same sponge for my dishes that I do on the skimmer? I use the sponge for other aquarium related things, not things I eat off of.

Maybe the sponge companies, in a crazy attempt to turn a profit, actually manufactured more than one. (That's from a movie or TV show, help me out on exactly which one.)

Not sure but I get the Sienfeld feel from it...

My sump area is 9"1/4x24". I would love to get a bm nac6 or bm100. Is the width of the base of these skimmers 10.4" exactly? Or is there some twisting and turning I can do to fit it into my sump? Thanks in advance

I built my skimmer section to be 12" x 9" and the NAC6A fits perfectly.

that's the one (comes with the wider neck)! see here for more info. http://bubble-magus.com/en/productShow.asp?id=959
