had them a few years ago.
whipped them out with Ripercol.
dosed it to my system for 1hour without skimming. After that i start filtering on active carbon and the skimmer back on.
(works great on flatworms to.)
then watch your system so you can notice the life circle of the nudis and repeat the treatment.
just don't use when there are shrimps etc in the system.
it is important to filter on active carbon.
the nudis release a lot of 'poison' when the are killed by the Ripercol.

I had never heard of them before. This thread went from inspirational to educational really fast!Sorry to hear about the acro nudies, when you get any info on them at all please share. Most people don't even know they exist. We have seen them on new shipments before but in extremely small numbers. Can you share a picture of the area that has been eaten so people know what to look for? Also is the cooling tower just a bio ball like tower with a fan blowing on it?
Congrats on the upgrade for the farm! Looking forward to updates.
I really wish I don't have to build something similar but it's great news that it's working. Fairly straight forward to build but, did you use plans and/or calculations or trial and error to size properly?
Thank you sacha ill give it a go, thr life cycle is a bit of a hard one, its not straight forward and its almost as if the eggs lay dormant until something activates them, we though mabe heat???
The active ingredient appears to me levimisole, can you tell me the dosage please....@ karimwassef:
i did not had any bad reaction on the starfish and bristle starfish i keep.
i use it on a full reef with rocks.
the Ripercol itself does not kill the shrimp and pods.
it is the dying of the nudis that releases there body fluid that causes some poison reaction that is bad for shrimp, pods and even fish if you don't start filtering on active carbon.
if you want to use Ripercol you have to follow things up and react properly.
it do works for me.

I know you guys use NSW so perhaps you don't monitor it, but I'm curious what salinity you run the farm at. I know it can vary throughout the world and just wondering what you guys use.

Nick, you mentioned a sister operation at a University, is this something they might research or are they looking solely at the aquaculture procedure? Since you are dealing with wild collected brood stock it might attract some attention from agencies.

One last request, love when you post pics, can you also post the name of the coral or what you think it is when you are not certain? Besides being an acro newbie, it's pretty cool to compare the sunlit coloration to that of a tanks.

Yes... I would like to know this too. There are several deworming agents like Levimisole HCL, Fenbendazole, Ivermectin, Pyrantel, etc....

I found some sources for Levimisole HCL

I think the different agents have different side effects. I depend on lots of good worms in my reef, so I'm cautious with mass deaths of biofauna around my corals.
so... dosage?
