Do you have a pic of that bit or the part #? Thanks.

Shawnts106, here is a pic from back on page like 8 or 9 of my prop assembly. The rod is 4.75" long. Also back there is a pic of my pvc housing which is 3" long.

Dhnguyen,

I have already put it together... and glued it... with 2 props what is the shortest length for the carbon rod and rigid?

geeze, I took the old broke prop out of the trashcan and have tried to glue it to the rigid.. so far its fine... however doesnt look its best! :(

but I think it will work and not break...

Im useing the Glue and also, the Welder to hold it together...

ALSO, very important...

In the picture you can see an inch or so of carbon rod at the tip...

how close do I need to put the prop stop to the prop?
Im very confused about this step... and Worry its not going to be done right...

thanks so far.

HEY!

Thanks alot for explaining it that way... that REALLY REALLY helped...

I have cut it down since... I believe its only 4.75inchs long for the CR and 3.75 for the whole mag/prop thing...

I am going to go get some BLK ABS PVC today... YEAHH!!!

I also, Took the OLD, BROKEN prop out of the trashcan last night... in an attempt to try and salvage it... WHICH I DID!

I took it out, and cut it a bit, shapped it up, then glued it to the Rigid, it fits perfectly... HOWEVER, I thought the glue was dry... so I touched it and then tried to wash it off, under cold tap... and it turned the glue WHITE... err, doesnt look very nice, but its hard as a ROCK! and its not going anywhere!!!

I will take some pictues of it to show you guys what I did to save a broke in half nitro propeller...

I used the Cynoacyrilic? glue and also, some more WELDER All Purpose contact adhesive to really make it stay... I put alot of force on it, thumped it a few times, pulled on it, and pushed to see if it would crack... and its a no ... so im confident that it will hold.. even if it hits the crossbrace and spins the otherway...

I turned it on in the tank when I only had 1 prop on it... and WOW thats alot more flow... very widespread... So im doing the bathtub test in a little while to see what 2 props do!!!

CANT WAIT! ;)

Hi. I've enjoyed reading this thread and learning how to do this mod. My hats off to everyone that came up with this.

I'm curious if anyone has attempted this with a Seio. I may have missed it in this thread if it has been tried. I have two Seio 620s lying around and was thinking about trying it as an experiment. Just looking for any thoughts before I begin. Thanks.

anything is possible. I suppose the question is how much flow from 1 source is too much, and when is 2 little maxijets less obtrustive than 1 big one?

to my knowledge we still arent sure how much could be produced. the one guy has the larger props and found the largest one couldnt be turned by a mj900. but that prop was way larger than the 1.75 that have been tried a few times. and perhaps a 1200 could have done even that prop.

I think eventually your going to run out of prop size and have to turn to prop speed instead, and thats not something anyones fooled with.

eventually someone will create a gear box for these bad boys to get the props spinning faster than they are right now. thats when the crazy flow will come into play.

so far I dont have an incentive for a gear box because thus far I dont see a reason for more flow. plus higher RPM's mean you need better balancing. but it wouldnt be hard. plastic pinion gears are also common in the RC car world; create a plate to fit onto the maxijet and offset the propellor shaft with the gears. Id bet you could get a mj900 to spin a 1.25" prop at double the RPMs without any trouble and get atleast 75% more flow.

I have had 4 mj1200's in my tank for the last 3 years. If I can go to two and have 8 times the flow with just 2, good enough for me. If I need more flow, hey add 1 more mj.

Go back to the superbowl it is boring.

Thats so weird!!!... I was just about to post this...

I know where a Seio 850? is... It came into our store... and neve worked, like it turns on, and makes horrible noise and doesnt push water... so I was thinking of something to do with the propeller....

ANYWAY! I DO HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM!

I got my MJ1200 all together fixed and everything! ... BUT!

When it turns on, it makes this HORIBLE humming noise, ... So I figure its the prop isnt properlly balanced... So, I took the crossbrace off and am making a new one to see if this helps...

Im not sure exactly HOW to balance a propeller... I suppose this is how...

any advise???

As prmoised. Photos from my latest version.

Not at all. I tested this shortened version against a longer one and didn't notice any change in flow at all. In fact, I think the shortened housing allows the flow to be much wider.

D.

Yes, I had to redo the crossbrace... its stopped buzzing, and only hums slightly.. no more than my mag7 seems like...

however, when it kicks on, its a KICKER! lol...

Ive got it on a NatureWave Wavemaker...

BTW: GREAT NEW MOD FOR THE HOUSEING!!!!!!!!!

Thats really neat!
My next one will be alot shorter.. since I know you can do that that short!

thanks again!

Nice work D!... The pvc is a nice match. I'm getting ready to do a single prop 900. As soon as its not freezing out in my garage i'll have some pics to post.

Who is HOME DEPOT's daddy???

Come on HD tell me, Tell me who's your plumbing daddy, that's it, that's it, come on an tell me....

Your daddy is LOWE's.

They have 6" flex fittings, Black ABS pipe, bunch of sizes, test caps, they have tons more than HD. For plumbing, first place I visit is LOWE's.

I even saw a 3" strainer that I thought would fit on the mjbody. If the pump was bigger it would look great. It was one of those green strainer for drainage.
