I have two sieos 1100's and also noticed how small those inlet slots are. Do you think opening up some of those slots will increase the flow of the sieo? I'd bet they're very constrictive. (sorry for being a bit off-topic)
btw...working on a maxi-stream 1200 and 900 mod as wee speak...so I've been following for a while...great thread.

So... The propeller is spinning the whole time while the whole thing slides back and forth? OR does it stop spinning completely and just slides back and forth?
My first thought is your housing doesn't allow enough slots behind the propeller and possibly one too many slots infront of the prop. Try this .... Extend the rigid tube and propeller out a bit further until the propeller is at the last inlet slot and see if that improves on things. That would be easier than re-doing your housing.

Just wondering what you guys think...
What if I used a MJ1200, but used a 1.5"- 2.0" Slip adapter to go up to 2"...then used a couple 1.8" props for water flow? Too much resistance...or might it work and make a 'mega-stream'?

Also, where does one get those PVC caps?
And, is someone making these? I saw some in another thread that had to have been CNC.

What size prop is this?
I'm confused as to why this housing works, but mine doesn't. It does look like your prop is almost touching the crossbrace, but I don't really understand why that would compensate for having too many slots after the prop?

Incredibly interesting thread!
I have a 65 gallon tank and I am looking to upgrade some of the flow. It is only 3 feet long. I am thinking that even the MJ400 modded might be too much flow. Any comments to get me started in the right direction?
