I wish I was a teacher. them benefits are amazing.. I'll be moving 10-15minutes away. not far but enough to stress the corals.. Where are you in san diego?
Thanks! Im feeding the fish 3 times a day pellets and flakes, on the weekdays 1 small piece of nori for the tang, and frozen mysis once a week. I think I will bulk up on more snails and feed more, I've been getting some very fine film of algae on my rocks for a day it'll disappear within 3-4 days.. I do only have a handful of CUC though.
2 turbos, 4 astrias, 1 hermit, 1conch,

Hey thanks bud! I will need it, I posted a question on your thread! Please let me know what you used to house your corals in that container!
As for an update:
I am starting to get some green hair algae underside of the rocks, its strange, hardly any lighting but its getting some slower flow then the rest..
As well inside the sump, I've noticed I got some baby bubble algae forming on the rubble, Possibly ventercia ?
I dont know how im getting pale SPS but algae is growing
Heres she is, 36x24x20 center overflow, rimless design and starfire
A bad picture but the stand came out better then I thought it would be, considering its my first time building it. I dont know about the molding, if it should be the same color or a different type... suggestions?

Today is D day, I will be moving the livestock into there temporary housing for a few weeks. It'll be raining later today so I won't have much time..
Here's a picture with the new tank. It's bigger then I thought it'll be.. Once everything is settled I will start scaping and doing the plumbing!

Thank you! After a very long day and tons and tons of bucket transfer the corals are now in their temporary home, I broke some corals off the rocks during the move so that ****ed them off! I'll be keeping an eye on stn or rtn, the water dropped to about 77-76 degrees which is usually 78-79 hopefully they didn't get to shocked!
Some quick questions, do I need to run carbon or gfo? For that time being ?
I will be testing and dosing if my parameters start to drop I'll post up some pictures in a bit!

New display and stand looks great to me mate. Keep the stand one color as anything else is just distracting imo and takes away from the corals.
A small amount of carbon won't hurt but the skimmer is best at removing slime fast i find. That temp swing is nothing at all buddy.
Flow is the biggest change most of the acros will be adjusting too so watch the stuff that doesn't like a lot as it's easy to miss the obvious when you're moving things.

Thank you Mr. B! I am using my skimmer, for the time being, sadly I had my red dragon STN on me from the base. I couldnt save any of it because I didnt have a boner cutter :lolspin:. It was actually 8-10 inches away from the mp40. You called it Mr. B They are really fragile little sticks.

Heres a picture of the temp. tank, ATO, 2part, skimmer, and lighting, the Tang and clown fish are eating, but the royal gramma is hiding most of the time... Feeding them once a day and doing WC every other day,
everything else seems to be doing good, good P.E and especially at night,
I'm also testing my water, Alk fell to 7 on 11/17 so i did a water change and started dosing 10ml of 2part, Tested today and its at 7.6...
I will test again tomorrow and see whats the levels. and adjust accordingly. By friday I will do another WC before the weekend. Sadly I will not be watching my little babies. Girlfriend demands we spend time with eachother:facepalm:
Moving sucks, Especially If your roomates sleeps early I cannot work on the tank after 9! Never again will I share a place with someone else besides the person that's making my sandwich:sad2:
So far this is what came out to be, I barely arranged the room, so please be patient!
the sump is cleaned, bottom plumbing is eh, manifold needs to be mounted, all thats left is,
1. drill hole in sump for the return pump ( would it be best to have external pump? )
2. create my durso pipe and also return lines
3. clean my dry marco rock and sand finally do my scape!

Anyway, you should have an internal return pump as you just plonk them in the water with no drilling. Don't add the sand for the first month so you have total control over the water without dealing with any cyano etc that might pop up. BB for the first 4-6 weeks makes dealing with pesty stuff so much easier Bob. Only takes a few hours to add the sand when you're confident things are going according to plan.
Just suggestions mate so you do what you think is best. Painting the stand isn't an option as we've moved past that stage of the build now Matt. :thumbsup:

I will go that route, I might even go BB so its easier to clean!
Also, I TOTS forgot about what I found during my process of cleaning,
My 6-7 old return pump magnet somehow cracked and has been running like that for who knows how long :facepalm: When i removed it, it was redder then a prostitutes V!
After cleaning it to check the damage, I'm suprised this new pump cracked a impeller, For anyone thats interested what pump it was, Quiet One 2200
Any suggestions on a new pump? Something that is reliable and doesnt get to hot..
