I have never seen any kind of juvi hybrid pomocanthus angel for sale anywhere! I would have scooped it up if I did! But don't you have a couple other angels you are holding back on us still? Whats up with that!

That's because they are not marked... those that are known in advance will usually go to Asia... that one I posted was listed as a "spotted koran"...

It's called having two young kids, a job, and a lot of tanks! I will post tonight... as I cannot post photos from work...

Yes, it is time consuming. I wind up spending quite a bit of time building new Thomas tracks for the little one.
The transition phase in an Emperor is soooo cool.
What about the great Gerald Allen's Butterfly and Angelfishes of the World, published in 1985... of note is that there was not even one photo of a living clipperton, but clarions were "frequently available to American hobbyists"... I remember those days!
Anyway, below is a quick updated shot of the originally juvie emp... orange tail starting to shine through...

Yes John I remember well. I had one (Clarion) that I kept solo in a 75 gal for a few years 87-90, until I gave him to a guy who could give him a bigger home (360gal). I wished to hell I had ponied up for the bigger setup, knowing what I know now.

Hey Ken, sorry for coming in late on this but I did not get the email from Reef Central that this thread was posted to...
The emperor pair I have are doing fantastic and have now been together for years... what a site! Both fish are now of course full adults... down the line if I upgrade my sps display to what I'm thinking (in the 900 gallon range) I'd move this pair to that display... I'm currently away but will get some updated photos up of these and some other fish I have in that tank... I'm currently working on pairing up my two clarion angels!
For now here are some dated photos as it looks like my old photo hosting site went caput...

I love your set up! You actually got me thinking on pairing up some large angels for a very distant in the future dream tank. Glad they are getting along. It will be nice to see some spawns.

as someone who breathe, eat, and sleep angelfish, i would love(or even pay) to see some video action of this tank...

Yes... I own over 40 angelfish spread throughout the house... I always say though it's not WHAT you mix... but HOW you mix... I hesitate to recommend to most what I do unless you have a lot of experience...
I do have a full queen in there... paired with my yellow townsend (hybrid queen/ blue angel)... here's the townsend...
... and one of the queens I caught a year ago about seven miles west of Key West... you could read about that collection here...

Yes... this is an old shot early on of the system in the kitchen... you could see the temporary transition zone set up...

I'm a fan of tanks in the kitchen... this is a 10 gallon nano I had ten years ago in the kitchen of our apartment when my wife and I got married... when our house was built I upgraded the kitchen tank to a 292...
