The official WP40 running on controller thread.

To resume all the story .
I have a cube 24x24x24 - and for the moment 2 x Jebao WP-25 each one with her controller .
I like very much the waves produced in W1-mode of controller .
With just one pump i don`t like the waves produced(in W1 mode) , the water motion isn`t so large . For that... my intention is to use two pumps(wp-25) , but the problem is that i can not sync the both controllers with the same parameters ... the final result to be the exactly the same start/stop of each pump .

For that i want to try to use 2 pumps conected to one Jebao controller , to start and stop pumps in the same time , and to appear the wave-motion in the tank (W1 mode) .
I hope that now is more clear .

Somebody to direct to some technical solution ? Is possible ?

Thanks in advance !

I understand , i thought that i can make a connection of two pumps to one Jebao controller ...
Are you sure ? I asked you to stop my searches ...

Thanks a lot !

I have not seen anyone do it. You can try it you want.
Per your request I will not respond to your searches anymore.

Yes. I know the DC pumps are being controlled by 3rd party controllers. The Reef Angel to be specific. What are you looking to do with it?

Looking to use an apex to mimic a surge tank. Run at 50% most of the time with occasional pulses to 100%. Apparently I can use the same modified reef angel cable. The only caveat I have heard is that if the pump loses connection with the apex it will simply shut off instead of falling back to a default percent - but I have alarms in place that can warn me of that rare situation.

I'm not sure how an Apex acts during a connectivity lose, but I know the Reef Angel and the WP pumps will pick up where they were if it loses connectivity.

I wasn't really sure what he meant by that, but I figure better to stop responding then to p__s him off.

You can program the Apex's response when power is restored. :)

Brandon

My concern wasn't in a power loss scenario, it was if the apex itself goes wonky/turns into a brick (EB8 still has power) or if the VDM get disconnected from the apex somewhow. The pump will apparently shut off instead of staying on.

You would need to modify the three pin plug to one pump to plug the 24v supply straight to the pump. You would then need to T off the 0-5v signal wire from the controller connected to the other pump to share the wire between the two. Both pumps should then run the same patterns from the single controller.

Hello ,
I write you from Romania .
About this thread , i have a question :
Can i control two different wp-25 with one Jebao stock controller ?
What i need : to make waves in W1 - simultaneously with 2 pumps WP-25, but controlled by the same controller Jabao-stock ( to start both at once / to stop both at once)
In this way i can make complete motion in the tank in w1 mode.

It`s something technical solution , do you have any idea ?

Thanks in advance !

regards,
Cosmin

Not sure where to ask this, but you guys seem to know lots about this pumps.
Can the dry side magnet be inside the water if I put it in my overflow box???? in other words will it survive or rust to death.
Brand new WP60's

Both magnets can be in the water. I asked Jebao this same question a while back.

Reversing Pump

Reversing Pump

Reversing direction would be fabulous. Reef currents often move in back and forth flows. First one direction, then the opposite. The value in a pump reversing direction folds nicely into this natural reef current event. It's really too bad the pump won't do it.

BTW - my certainty that the pump won't do it has nothing to do with understanding how the pump works. It's understanding the marketing value of mimicking nature. So it follows that if vendors could field a reasonably priced pump to reverse flow, they'd have done it long ago.

From page 5
I agree it would be awesome (probably why most tanks have pumps on opposite sides alternating flow)that pump could go in reverse.
FYI reversing pump have been out for a while , it is called the TAAM Mini Polario 10ML Low Voltage bi-directional Water Pump. I think the reason Polarios never caught on is due to noise issues & lack of controller options( they even had a super size version that you could attach sewer size pipe on the ends ).

I'm old school and don't have a controller let alone an Apex and would like to get a few WP's to anti -sync. I noticed that the stock controller on Wp40 remembers last setting when disconnected can I run my old but still works (stopped using since Koralias make loud noise when restarted) Natural Wave Multi-Cycle Pump Timer from Aquarium Systems?

I added jebao wp pump control to my diy controller. can do sync or antisync up to 4 pumps and is 100% perfect replica of W1 W2 W3 and H modes. Allows you to dial down to 20%. Anything below that, the wp pump stops spinning. You can also define your own custom waveform.

The arduino code itself is finished and I've been using for a week now, just finishing the web interface.

check out my diy controller thread.

Waterproof LED connector:
There are many that look alike, don't buy the wrong ones. The LED connector you want is this: 3x0.75 SQMM LED Light Strips 3 Pin Waterproof Connector Cable I can vouch for the black ones from Aliexpress, they work. I've heard the white ones do NOT.

I got this same cable on ebay winning bid of 99cents. It fits, but the thread is not 100% match, you can try forcing it. I just leave it unthreaded, the connection seems tight enough.

On my second cable, I just desoldered the cable from the stock controller.
