The Reef Central Corner Club Thread

I would build a metal frame that would sit on the top rim of the tank, and have a crossbar that you could mount the LED unit to. Paint it all black, and it would "disappear".

Get a tunze wavebox, no noise and does not need the tank to be 3 inch from the wall....

I set my tank up 3" from the wall anyhow, always need room to get in there or if you drop something.

I really do love everything about the MP10's, except for the whirling noise. I'm really at a crossroads right now........buy another and run them at 50-60%. Or sell this one, and get the Jebao WP25 pair with new twin controller.

I'd love to get more feedback on what people are using for flow in these corner tanks, especially MP10 users.

I have 2 MJ mods. One on each side wall, towards the front glass, about halfway, pointing up towards the center.

Rob, look at my lights in my blog.

I'm running the 2xwp25 and get a really nice random flow. The only down side of the 25's is the linear flow. It is not very wide. Also, i find that mine move the sane a lot if i do not place them just right. I can do a quick video for you if you would like to see mine in action...

I should also note that i am not currently running the single controller. I think that you can turn them down to 30% with the controller; It will allow the use of the other modes like wave2, wave3, and else mode interchangeably.

Over all I am very satisfied with the wp25's for the price point. I have not had any problems with noise or functionality except for a slight loss in power with algae growth on the pump inside of the impeller slot. It is easily fixed though with a quick vinegar bath. I personally do not mind it as i believe that on a smaller tank they are powerful enough. I have owned mine now for around 8 months and could not be happier.

I really like that design. We were thinking about doing something similar but can't because of the non funcitonal door my tank sits next to. We are still considering just hanging the fixture from the ceiling and fixing the wholes when we move from our current place. Nice tank by the way! I love the stand and canopy design. It looks like a lot of thought and planning went into your build! Also, where did you get your sump from? I really need to get an upgraded sump so that i can fit more stuff. My current sump only fits my skimmer and return pump. If I dont put a sponge through the baffles other wise I get a lot of micro bubbles. I would really like to get an L shaped sump custom made to add another few gallons of water to diffuse bubbles.

Yeah, any pictures or video would be great.

I'm definitely sold on the Jebao pumps..............price and performance speak for themself.

I'll sell the MP10, and pick up the new package with twin controller in a couple of weeks when it's available again.

Can't wait till they are shipping in the US again, 3-4 weeks from what I was told.

Until then, I'll be rocking some big ole Koralia 850s.......LOL

Do you guys think I could get away with 1 radion pro on a 92 corner bow their website says basically a 30"x30" area which basically covers all my rock and corals in this tank, currently I have a 6x54 watt t5, and it is a mixed reef tank
Thanks in advance

It all depends on the optics on the light.........anything under 90 degree optics and you'll have to mount the light 18-24" above the water to cover the area needed. 90 or 120 degree optics, you can mount it closer to the water and get a wider dispersion and cover your area.

I have a 16" wide LED unit, 120 optics, 8" off the water, and I have full coverage for my entire tank.
