Looks great.

How does the MP10 placement work for you?

I have mine 6" down and centered on each side panel in master/slave setup.

Thanks! I wanted to give my sps a bit more flow up top and they seem to like it. Polyps are out all day. I tried to lower the other one but it was making a mess with the sand.

Got my new skimmer installed this week, a Skimz SM161. Cleaned up the sump a little bit, got it all looking pretty again.

The benefit of a basement sump, all kinds of room to work and organize.

For sure........under the 54 I could only fit a 10gal sump. It was hard to work on my knees in that small area. My wife actually suggested putting it in the basement, so of course I obliged......LOL

And I have my QT tank and storage on the shelf under the sump.

It gets all the noise and smells out of the living room..........much better overall setup this way.

For those with canopies on your tank!!!
How did you to do the rear corner or "V" in the back!??? I was going to but up and get one the same length as tank then one same length plus thickness of wood to make them join.

Starting mine this weekend and I know you can Crack the ply if you go into a edge right? Thinking of using 1/2" birch and 1x2" for the inside.

I used 3/4" cabinet grade plywood, and I just cut one to length and one - 3/4". I then joined them together and screwed thru into them. I made some "L" brackets for the inside out of 16ga stainless steel and screwed them into the "V" for extra support. I also used the brackets to secure the top pie to the sides, as well as screws into it.

Awesome! So you butted them together and did one longer so it's flush? What did you use the cut the top, I only have a jig and chop saw. I have home Depot do some of my cuts then clean them up.

Yes, exactly. The side that is visible over my half wall is the clean side, I filled in the screw heads before painting.

I used a jig saw for all my cuts, then did a lot of sanding to smooth everything out and make it look pretty. Then put on about 6-8 coats of paint over everything.

Lol, this is prob my 8th tank soooo lol. What's the easiest way to measure pie top piece? Do the frame sides and trace then move to tank and Trace front? Prob easier but I over think things... Lol

The length of your sides is the same as the bowfront..........like 27" if I remember right. It's a piece of pie, it doesn't change for the entire radius of the arc.
