The Reef Central Corner Club Thread

Corner sump is finally complete!

Here are some pix of the leak test. My only concern, just like other reefers that helped me design the sump, said that the return area might be too small and water will evaporate quickly. But I designed it where the return chamber sits below the fuge to add more volume, look at my previous post. We will see..........

Scottallert - Is your tank acrylic? You can get the scratches out if you want, although i've never done it. If it's glass, i don't really think there's anything you can do. Anyone else have some advise?

oh man that sucks! what size tank is it? I've always thought that a 92gal corner bow with a 54gal corner bow as a sump/fuge would be awesome!

Aww man. thats a shame! Maybe you should get a 92gal and use the 54 as a sump or something. Everyone says how hard it is to get a sump into a corner stand

thats pretty nice wismie. I thought that I wanted 2 walls on the back, but I keep wanting to get my hands back in there and re-arrange to get something more interesting

Hi there Wismie.

IMHO I think you could do with a bit less rock. After all what we really want is to have plenty of coral growth. I started with a similar design for the rock, however, after having a long time reefer review my rock work he told me to take some of the rock out. I did so and I am very happy with the end result.

Wismie,

As a visual reference here you can see the original rock work and the current one:

Boret - Yes I do like the new arrangement much better! Jeez...Once i think i'm happy with something, I see what somebody does that just drives me crazy till I mess with my tank. I guess I know what i'm doing next weekend

Ocean Mang - Yes your right. Either you'd have to drop it in from the top if it would fit, before you set the 92 on top. Or you could take some of the back off the stand, but you'd still have to do this prior to setting the 92 on the stand. I thought of looking for a 37gal corner bow for sump on my 54gal. We shall see what comes down the road

Boret, nice job with the rock rearrangement. Looks great. I know the feeling of wanting to rearrange the rock when you see someone elses arrangement. That is part of the 'nature' of this hobby. when you can't afford to buy anything else, just rearrange everything and you feel like you got some new stuff. LOL!
