THE Tank Build By Aqua Digital

Nope you cant use cable due to the limited fixing that the Ai has, the screw hole is down deep in the heat sink and no standard fixing kit works, the only thing that can be supplied is a Yolk with the eyes either end and then a single cable coming from that but that creates a real balance issue and pendulum effect.

The chain actually looks really good the photos do not do it justice and you are looking at max length also

I agree with everyone, some stainless wire with some nice clamps would look a ton better... They would balance the same as the chain but be thinner....

Either that or shorten the pipes, attach the lights directly to them, but have the pipes be able to swivel out of the way to access the tank.

If you look on the ATI cables, the piece that ties the vertical cable to the cable that attaches to the light fixture has a dial on it that allows you to disperse the weight and lock it down. That prevents a pendulum effect.

I'm sure theres a way to attach them to the AI fixtures as well..... I just dont have one in front of me.

The jury is still out on this one, the bars have been lowered by 6 inches today and this has reduced the chain length.

The issue with cables is stopping them fraying once cut. I have loads here as we sell them, but all will fray, and as yet I have not come up with a decent hook assembly.

Just look at the chains as temporary until i can sort a more permenant secure solution ;)

you cant the Ai unit keeps the lights off the water by a max of 4" where you need a min of 6" otherwise you get spot effect and bleaching.

As i said this is temporary give me time ;)

Now its time to ask you guys a question ;)

The tank being 24 x 24 x 24 has two Tunze stream 6055's what would your thoughts be on placement

A - Both at one end at equal height on the same cycle

B - Both at one end one high mounted one Lower mounted on the same cycle

C - Either of the above on opposing cycle

D - One either end at Different heights on opposing cycle

E - One either end at same height on opposing cycle?

D!

D!

I like the "D" option Michael. And - is there a way to truly randomize the two pumps via Profilux control?

One day - my brain will finally grasp the fact that there is NOTHING that hthe Profilux cannot do!

I am thinking some kind of floating wood top design for mine. Maybe some adjustable slides so I would be able to raise and lower it. Your buddy I am sure could do something awesome that flows Wish the stand and your decore.

You must take you TUNZE´S on that way that the water will flow from down to Top back under the corals
not from top on the corals

this is not easy in a small tank with this sizes so you must calculate to replace the Tunze sometimes.

More important is that you have enough water flow throug the filter
did you have only 2 wholes ?

Hanging kit solution found :)

The ceiling mount points of the hanging kits are the right size for the Ai bolts to fit into and so these can be mounted to the top of the Ai with the cable inside.

The cable runner (Grippers) have a threaded end, a bolt will go through the arms and hold the cable runners under the arms.

Basically doing everything upside down ;)

Tunzes, these will be mounted at the back I will play with heights once the aquascaping has been finalised. I was going to demo the FM aqua scaping foam, but looking at some other options now. My initial thoughts on scaping is a central valley, I do not want any rock touching the side or the infamous "wall of rock" look.

Looking at putting in 20LB of premium Fiji into the tank and 2cm of aroganite.

Sounds MUCH better....

Im still doing this in my new tank as well. I have the 6055's at opposite ends, angled slightly differently, waiting to get my 180 taken down so my Profilux can control them.... They definitely put out some flow.

The only other thing Im thinking about is maybe putting one on the front of my center overflow as well to have a third one in the mix..... Ah, decisions, decisions.....

I have decided to run them at the back of the tank either side of the overflow halfway down and pointing up at about 20 degrees and slightly towards the side glass, these will be run opposite to each other, one off one on. Will then play with pulse times and wave types. This then will create upwards flow for the corals.

Another puzzle in place.

Christian is making me new brackets so the lamps sit more central and the hanging kits have been ordered :)

water? Maybe next weekend :)

You can use the 8020 aluminum runners and then your cable hanging kits. Basically the assembly minus the plastic legs that AI supplies hanging from your stainless cables and griplocks.

Simple.

Stony that's what I plan on doing and then making a wood facade around the fixture so I do not have to see the lights and rails.

Its good to use the AI rails that way you can easily move the units left to right if you need to. Or left and right to clear a space for doing aquascaping and such.

Looking good Michael!

Little update

New over tank bars arrive on Friday (thanks Chris), I am now also the proud owner of 3 different makes of hanging kits, none of which suit, so Chris is modifying a a set for me by tapping the cable runners to 8/32 and re working the bottom fixing boots. I should have this back early next week.

Providing the new Brackets arrive on Friday, water will finally start trickling in, and 20LB of premium fiji (Courtesy of Ottawa Inverts) will be in place by Sunday night. At this point the ozone unit will be on full bore, and plenty of ProdiBio if it arrives in time (latest product on test with us) of course not added the same time as the ozone being on

The sump has gone through surgery today thanks to my trusted dremmel to make an adjustable weir so the sump water height can be adjusted rather than raising or lowering the skimmer as there is no room in the cabinet to raise the skimmer itself if required.

Next post will be of pics of tank with water, sand and rock Wahoo :)
