THE Tank Build By Aqua Digital

Completed stand minus door handle but with the brackets for the Ai. These are 18" above the tank height (which is 24") to give good working clearance.

Question, not to be a bubble buster, is there going to be enough room to take the skimmer out to clean it?

Mike

Yes its a tight squeeze, but it is a compromise on looks, we did not want an elongated cabinet keeping to 32" high, this was a priority for me.

Of course this makes getting the skimmer out a PITA but hey ho :)

As long as you can completely remove the skimmer from the cabinet once everything is in, that's all that counts.

How is the layout of the overflow? Center, left or right?

Is the reactor for the Ultralith stones also going in that sump?

What is the plan for ventilation within the stand besides the 4 holes that are already cut? I would be concerned with all that Profilux equipment in the stand and the humidity building up.

Mike

Make sure you paint the wood directly above the skimmer with Kilz or you'll have a mil-dew and mold problem.

Looking great!

The overflow is central, the plumbing i will work out once all here, right now the stand and sump have yet to meet each other being about 1,500 miles apart :)

the reactor, I may employ instead a bubble magus one as the foot print is overly large or if room too tight use a sock as my Lith rock loading will be very small.

Nothing will be rushed, I highly doubt the tank will see water for two weeks after delivery, work and dealer/client support, baby, wife, get in the way, Oh did i mention client support :)

So its build time wahoo

The tank arrived in one piece from Miracle aquariums in Toroto Canada, fantastic job, well made and all edges as they should be, the drill holes are really smooth too, not a single nick :)

All drains and returns are bonded in, and the stand pipe put together :)

Yep its a squeeze alright!

Just add water! I have now run the RO line up through the central air ductwork and to the tank. The slow fill begins.

Michael looking good and my patience with AGE is paying off, my tank was built today and build thread coming soon. I have all my P3 goodies waiting for the most important part:) I wish mine would come together like yours, keep up the good work!

Good to hear Scott, you have has quite the wait :)

Please post a link on this forum to your thread or run a duplicate ;)

So i spent the day in and out of hardware stores, and came up with this, it is a work in progress as you can see the lamps need to come forward by about 1 1/4" but that is eaily resolved.

Chris at Ai said the lamps need to be 6-8" above the surface for a 24" tank so will adjust these up once I have water in the tank

here are the prototype pics

Maybe that will give some other users some ideas :)

Looks good Michael but I don't like the chains used to suspend the lights, to me it "cheapens" up the over all look. Would it be possible to suspend the lights using a thin cable, similar to the ATI P.M.?
