I have the Profilux and I love that you can basically do anything including automated water changes and ATO with a single controller.
The Apex would be my second choice. I have an Apex which I had on my tank but moved to my daughters when I got the Profi.
I find the Profi far easier to set up and program.

I have an eithernet and cable hook up being where the main tank will be, but my fish room is on the other side of the house, and our collection of bio cubes in a different part.
Are either of the units wireless? I would like to have all fish equipment running through one controller brain, but for this to work the power stips would have to be able to talk to the main brain wirelessly.
This will be my deciding factor.

The Profi connects it's powerbars through a standard ethernet cable (even though they call them PAB... whatever), this allows runs as far away as 300 feet. The Apex uses modified (I think) USB cables, so even if it is standard USB you are limited in the distance you can go.
I just made patch boxes with standard ethernet ports to connect my power bars.

I can get the fishroom commected to the tank with a wire with the PVC I ran to the attic, but the Frag closet I did not have them put one in.
Drywall is not up yet, maybe I need to sneek over there this weekend and make some more covert modifications

The title of this thread, just call it a typo. instead of 450 display you meant 540 display but .....

I would love to be able to update the title of the thread, and my username too for that matter.
12 years ago when my buddies and I started playing fantasy football, I came up with the team name "The Valhalla Kings", because I am a die hard Vikings fan and Valhalla is Viking heaven. so I started making my user name for everything Valhallaking, and when I joined RC Reefking was taken. Hence, theReefKing.
But I don't like it now cause I feel that it is too conceited sounding.

Being from Buffalo I have you beat. There are no teams in the NFL that have gone to the super bowl as often as the bills and LOST. Well I never used anything from them since I always considered myself to stupid to give up on my team BUT I started using the name Made2Rock YEARS ago, I'm now much older and it should to ToOld2Rock. Life is to short run with it and don't look back. Go for the bigger tank and enjoy it. You can always fix the garage back when you want to sell the house.

There is nothing more painful than being a Vikings fan. They build you up and make you believe. Even when you know you shouldn't because your gut is telling you the let down is moments away. Even when you are an Anderson field goal away from the Super Bowl, and your brain is telling you.... Don't get excited. Don't let them fool you again. You can't help it! You believe this time is the time it will be different, this time it is vindication. This time it is our turn!
But it never is. Anderson misses the kick. Farve throws the interception, the Giants shut you out, the ref says Aaron Poole was forced out of the end zone, the KC chiefs run thru the people eaters, and culpepper breaks his back.
Sigh. But I can promise you one thing. I haven't missed a game in 10 years, and I won't miss one this year either!
