Just be patient and you will get one I'm sure for the same price. Or you could just visit Thrlide and rob him. PM me for his address. Gonna cost you 20 bucks though ;).

LOL, I just saw this. Heck, I need to rob someone else of 1!

As a patent attorney involved with many start-up companies, I have personally seen how difficult it can be to bring a product from concept to market. There can be snags and glitches every where along the way. EcoTech has quite successfully provided a wonderful product -- I have two -- that we can all enjoy and appreciate as they stand. The WWD will only make them better. Keep up the good work, guys, and I look forward to receiving my two WWD's when they are ready to go.

Not sure what the current status is on the feed mode. I think the current release that we're working on has feed modes working within networks. We all realize the benefit of having feed mode broadcast across all networks, so I'll update people as to where we are on that.

Tim,

Thanks for acknowledging our functionality concerns/requests. Will there be any additional programming or functionality upgrade opportunities presented by the recent shipping delays ? Or are the delays allowing Eco Tech to bolster their inventory more to possibly allow a few more slots to be opened up for the first round release ?

Hi Tom,

We'll be using some of this down time to make sure features like the one broadcast feed-mode get into our first release.

That sounds great Tim. I also wanted to ask about the night mode. I noticed that it was absent from the list of the drivers capabilities. Is this intended to be added at a later date (possibly with the introduction of a central control interface) ? Or will it be an add-on ? IE: a separate "driver-type" unit with a photocell that would be placed within view of the tanks lighting that would then broadcast the "night mode" signal to the other driver networks to slow down. (or something along those lines).

Thanks again :)

EDIT : Another nice idea would be to create a remote "feed mode" switch. Just enough of a driver to accept the feed mode signal and broadcast it to the other drivers. That way those of us with in-wall tanks would not need to treck out to the fish room to shut down the pumps for feeding/maint/etc. That would also benefit those with regular tank setups that keep their drivers in thier stand and just don't want to be bending over and/or crawling under their stand to enable the feed mode. Just an idea :).

Also, will the feed mode have an "end mode" override ? IE: pressing the feed mode button a second time will take it out of feed mode and place it back into normal service. Or will it only be a timer based mode ? IE: will end feed mode after 10 minutes, and not before.

Thanks :)

If you're in such a hurry, why not take them up on the refund?

Badgering them to get an answer their not prepared to give is just pointless. I've prepaid for mine but I would rather the unit be up to par before they start shipping, a week or even two isn't going to kill me.

The single Vortech I have is working just fine and has been doing fine since purchased earlier this year. The delay is just a blip for the month and not much more.

You're just rubbing it in that you got yours ordered and I missed out on the first round :P.. just remeber that we know where to live :D (but one driver is no where near enough for our needs.. *sigh*).

On a side note, only 1 on a 120 ? or is it on the 58 ?

The single is on the 120g.

I'm not as fearless as Raynist who has 4 of them on his 120g tank - lol :D

Patience grasshopper

I've got three of them. I can't wait to try the wave mode with two on one end and the other one in random mode.

If you love something enough, you collect many. I noticed a couple of years ago how I have tons of millepora in my tank, more than any other species of SPS.

Now I'm doing that with VorTechs.

I've got 4 on my 210 and love them. I'm sad that I only ordered 3 controllers though. Hey Tim, how about letting me add one more on the first order?

Marc, I was thinking of a similar configuration. Currently we have 2 on the back wall and one each on the ends. I was thinking of taking the end ones and putting them on a single end, in sync mode, to pulse for wave action and putting the back two in random mode. That combined with the returns being in the front corners of the tank should make for some nice flow patterns, especially with our 6.5' X 4' X 2' layout. (at least we are hoping so :)).

P.S. I doubt we will ever have as many Vortecs as we do millies :)

Man do we all think alike or what. I picked up a third for my 5' long 150 to have 2 on one end in pulse and the other end random. I would have liked to be able to get in and out of pulse mode at preset intervals though. I'm just not sure if the wave will top the tank or not. Water level is 2" from top.

from the sounds of all this I should have about 12 of them!

yes

well, I know I'll have at least 7 when this new controller comes out...only time will tell on more. I would run mine at full blast and I got to figure that some of you guys aren't doing that. :D

I am getting Penductors for my return lines too.
