Think these Gobies are a Pair?

Got them a few hours ago from my LFS. There were several in the tanks, but these 2 seems to act differently so I thought there might be a chance they could pair up. Here's a video after adding them to my tank about 2 hours ago.

What are your thoughts?

I think they are. One seems to have a boxier build to it's head which leads me to think it's the female. Females tend to be larger and greyish as well as having a more rounded body. The males seem to stay smaller and keep their yellow color. That is if these are yellow watchman gobies...

They both appear to be female yellow watchmans to me at least. I would just keep an eye on them for now. With a new environment and with time they could become aggressive towards one another.

I think I agree that they look to both be females. I have a pair of YWG's and their tails are very different. What I assume is the male (more outgoing) in my tank has a pointed, spade-like tail, while what I assume is the female (more reserved and periodically has an overly full belly probably filled with eggs - looks like my spawning female ocellaris) has a completely rounded tail like your new additions.

I bought mine separately though and I can't remember whether they had differently shaped tails when I bought them or whether one possibly became male? I don't know if they can change gender like clownfish.

I do know that the first one I bought was grey and only changed to yellow after I added the second one which was already yellow.

Thanks for the input. One definitely has a bigger / boxier head and is much darker in color with the other looks a little thinner and is brighter yellow.

The tank is 4feet long so even if they do become aggressive towards each other I think they should have enough room.

Well they've been in the tank for about 24 hours now and have dug a hole together under the toadstool. One has turned bright yellow and the other gotten a little darker with a black line on its cheek.

They look to be acting like male and female. I would think that by now they would be some disputes observed if not a pair. Just my .02 worth.

If they're sharing the same burrow I don't think you'll have any problems and it's likely they are or will be a pair.
