Thinking about an anemone

Our animals are expensive. A usual reef tank most of the cost is the animals themselves. Try not to skim on the equipment because you can loose a lot due to poor equipments.
I don't think your light is enough to keep host anemones. Best to wait until you can get a system that can support the expensive animal that you will get

I read that if they die they nuke your tank? Is that true?

Yes this is certainly true. A dead anemone if not removed as soon as it dies can cause a tank crash and kill everything including your fish. I don't want to discourage you but you must be confident that you can keep a nem alive otherwise I wouldn't take the risk. Having said that, it's possible to know when a nem is going downhill and when it's close enough to kicking the bucket so you can put it sowewhere else to save your other livestock.

I will have to do alot of research before i make the decision on whether to get one or not. How do you keep them from moving around alot? If thats possible

They typically rarely stay in one place until they find a spot they like. All depends on flow and lighting conditions in your tank.

What about Chinese reef led? They are about $90. I don't have it, so I don't if they are great or not. I do have Current USA Marine Orbit LED and bubble tip anemone. My bubble tip anemone seems fine. But since I am newbie and it is my very first LED light, I don't know what I am suppose to expect from it such as if it is growing properly or slower than usual. Also they are .25 watt per led. Here is chinese LED. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...sid=m570.l1313&_nkw=chinese+reef+LED&_sacat=0

hmm. I don't know how long bubble tip anemone will last before they die from having bad light. I have been using that light on my anemone for 6 months. These are photo of my anemones how they looked like in that light before I injured one anemone's foot. :headwally: Btw, I took those photo with my phone. When i removed the anemone that is at middle, its foot got injured. After it got injured, its size reduce to 2/5 size of in the photo, and lost the majority of red color. The only color left was green and little red on tentacles. It lost its ability to bubble, and its mouth gap opened a bit. Then the other small anemone which is on the left side died. It was so sudden.:sad2: My frogspawn didn't wanna open up fully too, so probably because of the chemical released by the injured anemone. Since the small one died, i bet there were so much chemical in the water. So I put carbon in the tank, and my frogspawn got so much better. Now my anemone got so much better compare to the time it got injured. It bubble up again, the tentacles gained their sticky ability back, its mouth is close, and it has appetite too. It recovered some of the red color, and it is still recovering. So i can't really tell you how fast it will grow quickly in that light. I guess all I can say for now is it will live...:hmm2: TBH, I would try the chinese LED if I found out about it before I bought current usa orbit marine LED.

Yup, it was fine. It had gotten a little bit bigger than the one in the picture. Then I injured its foot, and its size got reduced to like half of the size of picture. Now that little guy is doing well. Maybe it will take 2 to 3 months to get back to that size or maybe more. Chinese Led looks pretty good for its price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-nnJDj2sJ8

I got the currnt usa today! Kinda confusing to setup but looks pretty good

Saw some LTAs at the lfs, would those work? Do ocellaris host them? The only reason im asking is because my LFS sells BTAs for 80$ each and they are really small...
