Thinking of a Clown Tang

Theses guys are cool looking but how are they long term?

Current tangs in a 10' 350 are:
6" Naso
5" Powder Blue
4" Chevron
5" Desjardini

I am thinking the only real problem would be the PBT.
What do you think?

Clown tangs are difficult. Of your stocking list, the 5" Powder Blue and/or the 5" Desjardini may be problematic.

I had a clown tang, came in infected and wiped out my whole tank within 2-3 weeks. I shall learn to Quarantine... but yes difficult fish none the less

I had a 3" one a few years ago. The fish shipped and acclimated well. The hardest part is getting them to eat with vigor. Some can be little demons others aren't as aggressive, it's a toss up really. I agree with Steve on the PBT and Desjaradini possibly being a issue

I knew I could count on the group to offer good advice. Thanks for the input. Now to break the sad news to my better half ......

I had a 5" clown tang in a 210gal and he got so mean he'd attack my hand when I put it in the tank! Lol

This often becomes the case, same goes for Sohals. I know I surely don't want to be attacked when I have to do something in the tank since that requires swim trunks and walking knee deep in my tank. Their scalpels are no joke especially the larger they get

I was once tail spiked by a kole, it's not something I'd like to repeat or forget anytime soon!
Sohals and clown tangs are very similar in behavior.

Yah, just like a Sohal. Manageable to about 5-6 inches, then they go insane. They'll actively try to slice your hand with their tail spine.

Got a 4 inch clown tang in qt right now. Lost a 6+ incher a year ago when a potters angel brought in disease and wiped the entire tank out. Awesome fish
