I see too many people putting juvenile tangs in 50g tanks because they think the tank is big enough for the juvie. Check out how my small 3" salfin tang (the smallest fish in the back of the tank) swims in my 8-foot tank. That's how a tang (even juvenile) should swim.

I hate watching fish videos on YouTube. It is full of tanks like this over stocked and fish that need larger tanks. The Angels, tanks and puffers o my. I had a orange shoulder tang and it outgrew my 400 gallon. Some of the Tangd should have at least a 12ft tank.

Actually, if you observe Sailfins in the wild, they swim at a very leisurely pace, picking at rocks with very little darting about. I saw several pairs while diving in Hawai'i (Big Island) earlier this summer - a real treat to behold. And they were HUGE.

Yeah I saw them along with Naso tangs in Oahu. Sailfin tangs were huge and somewhat slower swimmers.

I agree that fish seems stressed, perhaps from all the larger fish with more aggressive tendencies being housed with it.

Many people conveniently ignore advice given when it comes to stocking and if no fish dies they deem it a "success".

I don't think this is the response the OP was expecting. I think he was looking for something along the lines of "your fish have a great home" or "why can't more people care for their fish like you."

These responses are confusing me... This is a really well put together 8' 375, tons of compliments on the FO forum, what gives? New tangs act like this before they get settled ime, just checking out the boundaries. None of the other fish are pacing or acting stressed.

I'm sure compared to the 10 gazillion gallons that a tang swims in on a reef, a 4 foot tank is just as as a 6 or 8 foot tank.

that's what i noticed as well. a very large group just picking at a large algea rock got a pic of it.. dont see that the OP has any algea for the fish to graze on so what else is it supposed to do. behaving as unnatural as can be.
