I started running a RedSea 50mg unit on my 240 and the water has become so clear it is unbelievable. I have some new SPS frags so I hope that helps em stay happy.

Yeah I run 50mg/hr non stop on my 170G and don't know why I didn't long ago...After reading and thinking and thinking and reading...I just did it...wow what great water clarity...

Is it really that good... My unit of 50mg is still in the closet since 4 years. (included in a 2nd hand bargin)... How do you guys operate the ozonisater..
Through an extra small skimmer - threw carbon and then like a mad man checking the redox or what?

I've been runing a 100mg/hr Red Sea Ozonizer @ 5% for about a month now and have the same results. Awesome clearity, better light penetration, nuisance algae disapearing, better skimmer production, better color and a lightening of the corals. Been very happy with the Ozone addition.

i'm getting my 120 XH tank soon and was thinking of purchasing a red sea ozone unit which one would i need and should i run it through my skimmer for the time being i will be using a berlin classic modded until i get some money together again to buy a better skimmer please help me make my decision

I run my 50mg Redsea zonizer full blast with an air dryer and a small air pump into a T with the venturi line from my Euroreef...I have carbon on the exit side as well as a small bag ontop of the collection cup...I've never checked the redox...I bought a small unit used on here for $100.00 just to see how I liked it, I will someday upgrade to a full blown 200 mg/hr unit with redox control...

Oh yeah two thumbs up....Im running 10 mg with an Air dryer wasn`t expecting to see such a big difference but WoW injected into the skimmer major difference.

I have a 240g and 50mg/hr works just fine. I run it thru a berlin turbo classic. I also have a separate ASM G3 skimmer that uses regular air. They both sit in my 50g sump. The water quality is great but I have an unresolved bubble algae problem that I'm hoping my new naso tang will take care of.

i toos just recently got an Ozonizer and the corals are getting a brighter with more light penetration now that the water is so clear. I only run it for about 6 hours a days though.

....Do any of you guys filtrate ozoe threw carbone or what?

DO any of you run it hrew carbone or even if you do how is the effect in the long term on the water conditon or the inverts etc....

...this is the way I see it anyway. Please be serious! Things could really get.... f-up if you do it wrongly!

(Happy Reefing from Sweden)

Sinnce I mentioned before I have the machine in the closet (50mg Sander).

ive considered getting one, but it seems like the air dryer would constantly need attention? don't those dessicating beads get used up pretty quick and need to be baked often?

does anyone use an ozonizer without the air dryer? have u noticed a difference between using the dryer and not using the dryer?

yes the beads do get used up quick but 30 minutes in the oven at 230F makes them blue again.

I don't know how much of a difference the dryer makes. All I really see is how clean the water looks with O3 running.

In a long term usasge... how does is effect any other water values... I have read it have some possitive affect against nitrate though... how it does, I don't know yet....Still learning.

Still not qonvinced of the benifits of using o3... Because I don't know of the long term usage in a reeftank, accept of quite instant water clearness...

been running ozone for year and half now and love it.
i run mine through my euroreef and let it empty out
in my sump without carbon. i think 02manyfish runs
500mg/hr on both his prop tanks and display tanks 24/7
without running through carbon.

Isn't it dangerous for ozone to get into display tank? As I've heard it can kill coral tissue, and damage fishes gills.

Sunglee, how much ozone and in what size tank do you run it?
