Time to get my Butt in Gear, new tank

Fish seem stressed today, especially my long nose hawk. It was eating yesterday but not today, and its not perched but sittin on the sand. Erect fins still

I'd test everything STAT! You don't wanna get blindsided by something.....Snails and other inverts (corals not withstanding...) OK?

Saw a dead snail but nothing else, all else seems fine@ work tonight until 1130, will test when I get home tested alk today, went up a little bit. 10 dkh. Temp dropped to 76 but now@ 79 due to cold weather. Put some salt in the rodi top off, to raise salinity a little. Skimmer has started showing signs of working now too. Ill retest tonight and post results

Im still hoping its due to the fact its a new tank and new territory

I corrected it accordingly tonight by reducing the amount of ca and alk going in now. ill retest tomorrow

tank looks sweet. I'd go Hippo before Naso. I know you're enjoying your new found realestate, but Naso's get HUGE TOM! Hate to see you get one, only to have to find it a new home in a year or two. Just my 2 cents pal.

yea, thats probably what id end up doing. I actually just put in a order with tim today for a trio of female bartletts anthias

ditto, got that covered, well not literally. YET

i have window frame material and clear netting, just have to put it together

so the first week of the new tank is complete. I did a 20 gallon water change yesterday to clear up any left over toxins. I have the screen top half built.
The fish have settled in very nicely and everyone is alive and very happy. I think i have the flow down pretty good too. The bartletts anthias should be here tuesday.

One thing ive noticed and im very excited about is some colors of the SPS have started to be super bright. My sps lamoisse has gotten some brilliantly blue tips starting to form and same with my tort. I think im going to try to do 10gal changes every week.

I think back to when i had issues with my corals doing poorly and the thought of me have ULNS was the idea. Well i think it had everything to do with alk swings back then, so im going to go back to my usual routine of 10 gallons a week.

i will be increasing my bioload and feeding too, so i think thats a good move. Pics to come soon

Brs, but the problem is that it was shipped folded up and there are creases threw it....oh well maybe under the halide heat it will flatten out
