Too many triggers!

I agree with Dave, forget that that store is there!
Let me give u all some background on this store without dropping any names....
This guy claims to be an EXPERT on aggressive fish, particularly triggers, sharks, eels, puffers, groupers, etc......
He swears up and down then Queen triggers DO NOT come from the Caribbean, they come from the Pacific!
He constantly does not know what species fish are:
Calls map puffers stellars, calls Guineafowl puffers Blue spotted puffers- and when I tried telling him otherwise he got defensive.
He feeds ALL of his "aggressive" fish damsels ( ANY wrasse with teeth, ANY puffer, triggers, triggers, etc.....) by the way I DO NOT LIKE THE THOUGHT OF FEEDING MY FISH DAMSELS. Theres possibilities of ich with adding 100 damsels to your tank, its too damn expensive, and I like getting my fish on frozen foods-more convenient. He buys 100 at a time and dumps them in his tank. He doesnt feed his puffers anything but damsels..........now Ive had many puffers, they dont particularly go after fish!!!! They love crustaceans not fish! Anyways......
He has a "reef" tank with a sailfin tang, blue tang, and purple tang......the purple has jacked up eveything- they all have SEVERE HLLE, yet he does NOTHING. He hasnt ever even tried pulling out the purple tang. It killed a pair of black perc's a yellow tang and some damsels.
He has told me he doesnt know what a needle wheel pump is, and he uses Rio pumps on his ASM skimmers that he sets up for customers.......says he has never heard of Deltec, says Euro Reefs are bad.......
Tells people with saltwater tanks that you can use Marineland White Diamond Ammonia remover on ANY saltwater tank. He says it works great!!!....now correct me if Im wrong but Ive heard it doesnt do %&$# for salt tanks. It just exchanges some ion or something for salt?! Doesnt sound good.
He thinks the only difference between an Indo tusk and an Aussie is the teeth. "Only Aussies have blue teeth" say him... BS I know for a fact Indo's have blue teeth as well. The differenc is in the color intensity of the orange. I think he sells Indo's as Aussies to idiots......

sounds to me he wont be in business much longer. When he goes out of business buy all his equipment for dirt cheap and start your own store

If you attempt to make anything "idiot proof" they just design a better idiot.
This "new and improved idiot" seems to be the case the LFS. Give your business (lack thereof) accordingly. That is really about all you can do.
With all those triggers odds are most of them will "stunt" at around the 2-4" size. Usually also means short lifespans (even without being gutted by tankmates) but that is what it is.
As for puffers eating fish....only my golden has only ever gone after fish (dead silversides) but he takes those only if he can't get mussels which he is nearly obsessed with. Puffers/predators They can live off damsels but it is an inefficent and expensive way to feed that isn't nutrionally excellent (but I suppose not awful depending on damsel health/weight/etc) but it does make it easy to introduce parasites or disease into the tank. Further, it also encourages piscovore behavior in a big mass fish with a big *** beak! Not cool if you want to keep less aggressive fish with a puffer which is usually possible if they haven't been taught to go after other fish (fish shaped tidbits).

That is my feeling to LRS....he always asked me "Hey why dont u start feeding your puffers damsels?" I say hello no, I dont want them to think of fish as food. I keep some smaller fish with my puffers, and I dont want them eaten. I feel much better about feeding frozen food. I feel bad as it is feeding damsels to my angler.
