Toofrigginswt's Custom 125 Gallon Tank Build

Good point Mark. Even though no polyp extensions on the corals, they were still doing fun. It was just looking a bit weird without it :)

For the record, I think there is nothing wrong with angels nipping on corals. Nipping on corals may not equal great polyp extension, but polyp extension is not always the best barometer of a corals health. :hammer:

I've read through your "How Many Coral Nippers" thread a while ago  I don't mind an occassional nip here and there. I knew that when I put the flame and cherub in. Heck, my ultimate goal is to eventually have a Regal Angel. I think they are the most beauiful fish.

However, if the angel is terrorizing my tank then I cannot tolerate that and will have him exiled! haha... jk.

I just received this new Jebo (JEBAO) WP40 pump today. Now, I've always looked at Jebo as a pretty cheap brand that makes cheap products. However, I decided to give this pump a shot since it was getting a whole lot of attention in the equipment forum. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with it... Especially for the price. It's about the size of a tunze but much stronger than my MP40. If I didn't have euro bracing, the rogue waves would have spilled all kinds of water onto my floors.

There's a huge thread with people modifying the pump to adjust the flow. I think I am going to have to follow their footsteps because this pump is just way too strong.

Performance wise, I say this thing is hard to beat for the price. Especially since a Vortech MP40 is $400+.

Reliability- Who knows. Only time will tell I guess. For $85 plus shipping, if it lasts me 4-5 years I'm happy.

Quietness? It's definitely more quiet than the vortech but you can still hear a high pitched vibration. I have it set at W2 mode right now and it makes a low, med, to high melody. lol.

Here's my attempt to write out how it sounds like haha: zz..zzz. ZZZ..zzz...zz...zzz...ZZZ...zzz...zz

I think once I mod the pump and adjust the flow down a bit, the noise should be less noticeable.

I'm still not sure how I feel about a cord running inside my tank like that. Good thing is that I can always use this for a frag tank when I finally set one up.

Hi Jonathan. I have been watching that same thread with interest also, but have not made the jump yet, as I am not sure if the flow will be too much for my 120, as I have 2 Mp40's and a Korallia now. What will be the ultimate is if they can be modded to be controlled by the Apex.

Oh Man. This is supposed to be The Reef in the Sky part 2: Elk Grove Style and you bought a Chinese tunze knock off? C'mon man.... Anyway, I am ticked off at Tunze. Bought two 6255s not realizing they are on backorder. Too much funds tied up on the pumps. Hopefully I get them by the end of this month.

It will definitely be too strong for your 120 (assuming that you have a 4x2x2). If you did get it, I'd definitely mod it to adjust the flow down. Compatibility with apex would be nice:)

Sweet I was thinking about getting one also, I might have to now.

It's definitely tempting for the price.

Out of curiosity on the box or on the cord is there a UL listing?

I'll have to check for you when I get home.

I've always been the type to try new things. I bought it more for curiosity because I already have more than enough Vortechs. I still prefer the Vortechs only because of the slim profile inside the tank and the broader flow. BUT... for those on a lower budget and not willing to spend $400-$800 on a pump, $85 is a very attractive option for a very powerful pump with adjustable wave modes.

I will be setting up a 6-7ft shallow frag tank eventually and I'm definitely going to be putting this in there. For a frag tank, I'm not willing to spend too much money on the pump. It's just not worth it to me.

I am just teasing you man. I woke up refreshed and very happy today. You already got the goods, IMO. Keep it up. Cheers!

I know you were teasing

In regards to the frag tank, I have to figure out my situation first. We are trying to purchase a second home and depending on how the next home is, I might end up moving into it and renting out my current home. If I end up staying in my current home, then I'll plumb everything from my garage to the main display. That's when the real fun begins :)

How can I convince you to move to Roseville? 1. 10 minutes away from yourreef and aquarium depot 2. Water comes from Folsom Dam collected from pure snow - 30 Tds straight from tap 3. Closer to Folsom round table pizza so getting to the mars meeting is a breeze. 4. Haven't had anybody steal my garden hose yet since I moved out of Sacramento. 5. I pay less in utilities than SMUD and sac utilities.

+1 !

And I'm down the street from him too!

Excellent workmanship. I am enjoying this. I am planning out a build for next month and I have gotten some great ideas from this thread.

HMMM...Jonathan did you get that WP-40 locally or did you order it?

I think I want one after reading the reviews.

Text me if you don't want to say it publicly.

Wassup Kevin!

I don't think they sell it in the states yet. I ordered it from overseas. Took 6 days to get to my door so shipping was pretty fast. I purchased it from fish-street.
