Yep. They can be nasty little guys. But if you need to rid the flat worms, he should do it. Then remove him once the FW are gone.

If I NEEDED to remove them, that's a simpler solution. However if you buy one from a LFS, you can see how there temper/attitude is towards other fish (ie chasing them around, and/or nipping).

in your 33g? I dunno bout that. The food they eat can soil the water quickly. I don't think I'd put one in less than a 55g.

These things don't really correlate. Just a number of fish is not very telling about whether a tank is over-stocked. There are bioload, behavioral, and territory issues to consider. Just because they sold you 5 fish for a 12 gallon tank doesn't mean they have Tangs in 10's.

If they can/are/willing to keep MORE than 5 fish in a 12g, I wouldn't all be surprised if they were selling tangs out of a 10g tank.

....and if you ask me, I usually side with the tang police too, but tangs should not be discussed in a top 10 reef fish thread. Most of us know a tang in a nano is cruelty.

It has not been discussed. I simply stated a comment in regards to the bad LFS husbandry. That's all. "Discussion" (pun intended) is over. Ok? :hammer:

The best nanofish are the ones that stay very vey small when mature... less than 2 inches. Its all a matter of scale. Fish any larger just look out of place in small tanks. Evoita and trimma gobies, small blennys, etc. I think even the popular clowns are too big for most nanos. IMO...its not what fish do well in nano tanks....its also what looks right.

-tailspot blenny (hands down totally awesome)
-trimma gobies
-clown gobies
-neon goby
-red headed goby
-bicolor blenny
-flaming prawn goby
-shrimp goby/pistol pair (as long as the shrimp goby stays small)

My favorites are the perc clowns. I plan to get a pair of black and white ones next month. I also thought about a tailspot blenny but as long as the algae is not out of hand (and the snails keep it in check) then the 14-gal will just be home to the percs.

I love the personalities of the hawkfish, 6-line, and blennies. The 6-line was not too bad with the other fish but the hawk held its own and he never messed with the blenny. He took out all his aggression on the flatworms. I think they made him as mad at them as I was. LOL

I did have a 5-gal with a yellow watchman and his pistol shrimp. Those two would dig all day and night.
