Toronto LFS tanks poisoned

well this store was a complete different story !

they had a HUGE store and their sales was no were near making money !

I have visited their store ALOT, and I get ****ed off and yelled at them each time ! all their corals looked BAD, dnt get me started on salt water section

freshwater u assume its easier for ppl to keep, but nope, as Wtac posted, no filteration (my 65G has more filteration than their 60 65G tanks. )

there is another fish store right besides this, and it always had 25% off sale, lol,

I, TRULLY, can not believe someone has done this !! or if a person has, then it was to kick them out of business (that person must be Fed in the head to kill that many fish to make a point) but their fish store was a slap in the face of fish keeping !!!! also, insurance pays for the dead fish, even though the fish would have died in a day or two anyways ;)

needless to say, the owners have sold the store and are opening up another store at different location hmmmm makes u think ehh ?

there are many other aquarium stores around, and none have experienced this. so its either themselves, or someone who had a personal conflict with them.

sorry to say this, but I'm glad they closed the store ! my GF used to get mad at me cause I used to go there and fight witht he owners alot about the quality of their water and fish and corals ! after he tried to sell me a colony of SPS RTNing as 2 color SPS ! lol got me soo mad I had to tell them off lol

The store beside them was a Big Als corporate store. They had a 25% off sale for a while to compete with this store once it first opened. Frankly there wasnt much of a threat. Customer service was lacking, even when you were interested in buying something. Apparently they received a huge shipment just before this happened.

IMO they should have put surveilance cameras covering the whole store, which ever lowlife did this should be killed a hundred times!

I doubt they'll figure out who did it, without cameras. Without Video proof their isnt much they can do. This is so messed up. Reminds me how most of my buddiess tell me how their going to dump cologne into my aquarium lmao -_- but they wouldnt they know the outcome wont be good for them :)

I have heard of lfs being poisoned like this by competitors. I hope they are found and prosecuted fully.

they had no competition lol

if all LFS in Toronto went down except indoor jungle, I'm sure half of the ppl would go out of the hobby and other half buy stuff from other provinces lol

they did not even have 1 healthy fish in there !

If they were that bad maybe an insurance scam lol. If they did it themselves and get caught they should be prohibited from owning fish ever.

well isnt it weird how this takes place, no camera footage is released, the store closes. couple months later, the same owners start another fish store in another Area !!!

hmmm, if I started a tank and F'ed it up, I would love to get insurance to pay for the expenses so I can start another one more carefull this time !!! LOL

I wonder if they installed cameras this time.

If they didn't, then I'd really lean towards insurance scam on this one.

If the place burned down, than maybe you could think insurance scam. But a couple thousand dollars worth of livestock, not a chance. Not only would it not provide enough money to be worthwhile, insurance for live fish isn't something a retail store gets. If they could even find an insurance company willing to insure highly perishable livestock, the premiums would be prohibitively expensive.

One of my LFS's must be paranoid about this. I noticed since reading this thread that they now have locks on many lids of the tanks.

The stories goes that the Camera happen to be OFF on that specific poisoning day.

Where is the "new fish store" ?

Its too bad that they had a poor setup and poor customer service. Has anyone dealt with the new owners? Hopefully they are making improvments...

Regardless of the circumstances, the loss of livestock is very disturbing. The story just doesn't add up if you ask me though. Sounds sketchy....

Last time I heard anything about Indoor Jungle, they were selling any and all equipment in a local Kijiji Advert. They had mentioned they were renovating and needed the coral tables gone as well as all the fresh water tanks.

Very sickening. What kind of low life would do something like this? Karma is a nasty thing to deal with so they will get what is coming to them in the end.

A local store to me had the same thing happen on a smaller scale, they dumped bleach, clorine or somthing like that into a neg edge tank, but the owner caught it fast and was able to save the monster 10"+++ clam. Not sure if they ever nabbed the tool that did it.

If I ever had a store, it would be one heck of a security camera system, that is for sure.

Unfortunately this isn't that rare. Mostly animal activist idiots.

Sorry for you loss.
Since when do animal rights activists kill animals? Sometimes they release them and the animals die, but I've never heard of them outright killing the animals.

I don't get it. Some people just want the world to burn.

Heard of Google? Type that statement (animal right activists kill animals) into google, and you should get plenty of results, PETA members on trial for animal cruelty, etc...

Odd. I would think that in a state like AZ, you'd be able to display your automatic weaponry on the wall behind the counter as a deterrent.
