Can anyone advise if there have been occurrences of toxic sponges hitchhiking on "Fiji" LR? I have suffered several mysterious angel deaths (outlined in disease forum) over the past few months with no identifable cause. Other fish are unaffected, and tank params are good, and I therefore suspect neither common marine diseases or ammonia poisoning.
Given many angels' propensity for sponges, I'm thinking that this may be a cause. The only sponge that I introduced into my display was an unidentified species that came with some halimedia; it was, however, in the tank with fish for five months and I noticed no ill effect on my fish.
All help is greatly appreciated.
