Treating with Vitamin C

I know this thread needs another testimonial like it needs a hole in the head. But...here goes:

I've been dosing for about two weeks now and have seen no ill effects at 5ppm. Growth is good, nitrates very low, and my frags heal quickly. Now the really astonishing part happened to me today. I recieved two highly anticipated colonies of zoanthids overnite from Oregon. When I lifted the bags from the box they were covered with condensation like a glass of iced tea in august! I checked the bag temp: 57.5, and snapped pics for doa guarantees. Totally dismayed, I proceeded with my typical acclimation: float bags, revive-iodine dip, and several hour blackout. I left the house and expected to return to see some zoas turning clear. But instead they were all open! That's 100% survival on 200 polyps! In the past, when I've recieved cold zoas the survival has been no greater than 25%. Now I know this is anecdotal and by no means a controlled study, but if vitC were bad for zoas, then these would not have stood a chance. This is me stepping onto the bandwagon...

I thought so, just wanted a 2nd opinion, I'll probably buy the iHerb stuff after I use this but figured I might as well use what I have, thanks Jeff.....

** I have been using Brightwell Aquatic's Vitamin C. When I added it to the aquarium it seems to create flakes in the aquarium that almost look metallic.

Anyone know what this is?

That was discussed a while back. It is a much lower concentration and would cost a LOT more in the short term to keep the same dose going that we have been using.

Oh, I didnt even check the size of the bottle. It does look very safe to use though since he already has it.

You're very welcome! But why so many clowns in there? Do they all get along?

I don't see any pics.
I have raised them since they were eggs so they get along pretty well.

Started dosing vitamin C today, just a little background: all my zoas & LPS are doing great, good growth, decent color, my LPS have great polyp extension, the reason I'm starting to dose is to hopefully increase coloration, I am doing 1/4tsp. & will dose twice daily.....I took a bunch of before pics & will put 'em up soon.......my plan is to dose at 7a.m & 7p.m.....looking forward to seeing what happens.......

So I'm 3 doses in, definately saw more production from my skimmer(HOB octopus, deltec upgrade is in transit), keeping a close eye on my KH as this seems to be the most commonly seen "issue", not expecting anything yet, just keeping the thread updated, will get some before pics up tonight or tomorrow.......

Started dosing 10 days ago, Im on 5ppm dose twice a day now. Have taken some before pics as i was having some zoa colonies close up and some disappear.

Will update in a weeks time.
