true and false clown

Had a pair of true (one orange-female and one black-male) for 2 years. About 8 months ago-female died for unexplained reason (local fish tank guy stated possibly got egg bound-bec would lay eggs every 2 weeks). In haste I bought another clown next day to acclimate the male with a new one. Came home and husband told me it was a false I bought. Surviving together and sometimes acknowledges each other's presence. True clown takes to our RTBA, false just swims around. Probaby stupid question-would they ever become a mated pair in time??? (90gal bowfront reef tank)

Ocellaris and perculas are both part of the percula complex, so they can be paired fairly easily.

Also, if your black before was a solid black and not an onyx percula, then you've already had a successfully mated percula/ocellaris pair. :D
